For seafood enthusiasts and adventurous eaters, our preferred ceviche vendor will demonstrate how to prepare this Peruvian classic right in the market.
Be sure to pace yourself and leave some room for more! We will continue to explore the market, sampling a wide array of dried snacks, side dishes, fresh fruits, traditional liquors that will surely invigorate you, and delicious juices not commonly found on restaurant menus.
Whether you’re a food lover or simply curious about the Peruvian culinary buzz, our market tour offers an authentic, alternative experience that food enthusiasts shouldn’t miss.
- Cementerio de Nueva Esperanza - After a 40-minute drive, you’ll arrive at the world’s second-largest cemetery. It’s an impressive site, unlike any other cemetery you’ve visited before. Nestled among the hills and human settlements, you’ll have the opportunity to explore, and if you’re into photography, you’ll capture numerous artistic shots.
- San Juan De Miraflores - Following the cemetery visit, you’ll proceed to the human settlement where you’ll first meet a local woman who has established her own small business and artisan workshop in her home. She will share her story and business insights.
The bilingual guide collaborates with a local guide who will show you around the neighborhood and introduce you to several local families and community leaders. The first stop is the home of our local cook, who has prepared a delightful drink and snack for you.
Afterwards, the local guide will provide insights into daily life, highlighting both challenges and positive initiatives. The residents have worked diligently to build a strong community, and you’ll meet some of these community leaders. The guide will also explain more about the local project your visit supports. On certain days, you’ll even witness their activities with participating children in action.
