You may be tired, but your heart is full! We will ensure a safe return to Lisbon for some well-deserved rest.
- Basilica de Nossa Senhora do Rosario de Fatima - After lunch, we will proceed to the Sanctuary. Located on the original site where the Virgin appeared to the children, it is now a well-organized structure welcoming pilgrims from around the world, visited by 4 Popes and honored with 4 Golden Roses.
Mass is at 6:30 pm, always in Portuguese, but a mass is a mass, and the organ is simply amazing! The Chapel of Apparitions and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity are distinct places of worship within the Sanctuary, allowing visitors to explore.
We will also visit the Museums in the area (except on Mondays).
During our time at the Sanctuary, we will visit the tombs of Sister Lucia, Saint Francisco, and Saint Jacinta - as His Holiness Saint John Paul II stated, the two Candles God offered to Humanity.
You’ll have some free time for personal prayers and adoration. Until 2020, we are suggesting the Itinerary of the Pilgrim, a recommendation for the Pastoral years 2018-2020.
- Basilica de Nossa Senhora do Rosario de Fatima - We will drive for dinner between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM as the Rosary and Candlelight Procession begin at 9:30 PM.
9:30 PM – 10:45 PM – Rosary and Candlelight Procession.
- Casa-Museu de Aljustrel - One of the most significant religious pilgrimage sites in Europe, Fátima gained fame in 1917 when three young children reported seeing a vision of the Virgin Mary there.
We begin our day with religious and souvenir shopping at Fatima’s shopping center so that you can have your items blessed at mass in the Sanctuary.
We will continue our journey to Aljustrel to visit the Little Shepherds’ Houses and the site of the Angel’s 2nd Apparition.
- Valinhos Sanctuary - We will also visit Valinhos, where the Virgin appeared, and Loca do Anjo – the site of the Angel’s Apparitions. This is one of Fátima’s most sacred and tranquil places. If the weather and timing are favorable, we will walk up to the Plinth of the Hungarians, doing some of the Stations of the Cross.
By now, we will check on our pilgrims! Most likely, after all the walking, we will head for a well-deserved lunch! Our restaurant selections always include cozy traditional local eateries.
