Don’t miss the chance to do this tour! It’s truly exceptional - What a fantastic experience we had with Kika - she such an excellent knowledge of the local culture and the food scene, introducing us to the owners who are also passionate about their food, wine and culture. And above all we had great fun!

Kika was a fantastic tour guide! So knowledgeable - Our experience with our tour guide Kika was fantastic! It was so much more than a food tour. It was a history lesson complete with hand drawn maps! The food was delicious and off the beaten path. We learned about the architecture in the aftermath of the earthquake. We even had a lesson in botany as we wrapped up our tour in Estrella gardens. I highly recommend putting Culinary Backstreets on your itinerary when you visit Portugal and you would be very fortunate to have Kika as your guide!

“A Taste of Lisbon’s Soul—Guided by the Incredible Kika” - We try to do a Culinary Backstreets Tour whenever we are traveling to a destination where they offer tours as they are consistently the BEST food/history/culture tour!! Our guide, Kika as outstanding from start to finish, teaching us throughout and answering our questions that continued…. Of course every stop on the tour was very intentional, and provided a great variety of different specialties of Portugal. We also appreciated learning that part of the intentionality is designed to support local businesses to ensure they survive and continue to be a part of the culture and history of the fabulous city of Lisbon! You will LOVE this tour and should make it a priority for your time in Lisbon!

Excellent experience & terrific food - Guide Ines was very knowledgeable and had a really charming way of combining the history of Lisbon with the food we enjoyed. The food was plentiful and diverse. The wines we tasted were excellent. We got to experience a part of Lisbon that we went back to explore on our own a few days later – Ines’s genuine local knowledge shone through. Woukd highly recommend this tour.

Her deep knowledge of history coupled with her food and wine background culminated in a phenomenal tour. If you only take one tour in Lisbon this is the tour !!!
