Santuario Nacional de Cristo Rei - A visit to the National Shrine Cristo Rei in Almada with an excellent tour guide is highly recommended.
The National Shrine Cristo Rei is situated near the 25th of April Bridge in Lisbon.

Explore the history of this site and its similarities to the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Take ample time to truly appreciate this wonderful experience.

From this hill, enjoy the opposite perspective to the viewpoint of Our Lady of the Mount, which will be visited later.

- Miradouro das Portas do Sol - Portas do Sol viewpoint
This viewpoint is essentially a large balcony above the ancient Alfama neighborhood. Its panoramic view has graced countless postcards, depicting a colorful Mediterranean village cascading to the waterfront. It’s a must-visit for anyone wanting to capture the best photos of old Lisbon, with the towers of the Monastery of St. Vincent and the dome of the National Pantheon standing out in the skyline.
- Miradouro de Santa Luzia - Santa Luzia Viewpoint
Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Lisbon. The trams that pass by, ringing bells, and the magnificent decorative tile panels contribute to its charm. One panel depicts Praça do Comercio before the 1755 earthquake, and the other shows the 1147 battle to retake the city between the Christians and the Moors.
- Miradouro da Senhora do Monte - The Miradouro da Senhora do Monte is a significant landmark in Lisbon. Despite its exceptional panoramic view, it remains one of the quietest and least visited viewpoints in the city. A few meters from the Graça viewpoint, its stage-like format offers a privileged view of the capital. To the left, find the church of Graça and the majestic Castle of São Jorge, standing as the city’s guardian.
In the background, the sea of straw and the Tagus estuary shine, illuminating the roofs of the Baixa and the ruins in Carmo.
This is where the first King of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques, set up camp for the conquest of Lisbon in 1147.
- Mosteiro de Sao Vicente de Fora - Visit the remarkable Monastery of Saint Vincent Outside the Walls.
During the siege of Lisbon in 1147, D. Afonso Henriques vowed to build a monastery dedicated to Saint Vincent, a revered Saint among the Mozarabs, if he succeeded in conquering the city. This monastery was founded the same year “outside” the city walls, justifying its name.

Panteao Nacional - National Pantheon
Considered Portugal’s first baroque monument, its interior is inspired by St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome and features colored marble.
Originally built as the Church of Saint Engratia in 1682, it became the National Pantheon in 1916. Its large dome was only completed in 1966, making it the longest construction project in Portugal.
- Alfama - One of the oldest neighborhoods in Lisbon, where Portugal’s traditional music, Fado, originated and thrives. Visit the old houses that survived the devastating earthquake of 1755. This popular Lisbon area celebrates the feast of Santo Antonio in June.
