Oceanário de Lisboa - Visiting the Oceanário de Lisboa offers a remarkable experience, allowing guests to explore and feel the enchanting magic of the underwater realm. Embark on this reflective journey to encounter 8,000 marine creatures from 500 diverse species.
The permanent exhibition (Aquarium) honors life on Earth with a central 5-million-liter saltwater aquarium, encircled by four marine habitats that represent the North Atlantic, Antarctic, Temperate Pacific, and Tropical Indian Ocean. This design creates the illusion of viewing a single aquarium and ocean. The tour spans two levels, both terrestrial and underwater, traversing the temperate, tropical, and cold waters of the planet’s various oceans.
Additionally, explore the “Forests Underwater,” a masterpiece by Takashi Amano, showcasing tropical forests through the world’s largest nature aquarium, and the new “Submerged Universe” exhibition, an immersive journey into the vastness of the ocean.

Loved this place - This is a great aquarium. The main attraction is the giant centre tank, and it is brilliant. Really breathtaking. We visited to get a bit of a break from the heat, but it was such a great decision. Would recommend to anyone.

More than expected - We had one day in Lisbon with our 8 year old grandson and booked this visit because he likes aquariums. We thought as long as he had fun it would be a good day. How wrong we were we all had a great time the displays are ready good and the l8ght room had all three if us spellbound when the whale swept across the room. It's quite deceptive as we thought we had finished and were heading for the exit only to realise we were going a different side and were only half way round. The day we went it didn't appear very busy but even if it was there would still be lots to see. The sea otter and puffins are definite stars. Given it low price it's not only a good way to spend and afternoon but excellent value for money.

You don’t need children as an excuse to see wonderful marine life. This is amazing - Never mind if you have children, this aquarium is awesome for all. The visit is tranquility itself and has so many tanks that are superbly laid out and varied that if you don’t get a buzz and a calm from this trip then you need to go in search of your soul! The central main tank can be viewed by literally a dozen locations as you traverse through the exhibit and forms a stunning central attraction (where at each reintroduction you will experience something mines and amazing) but the supporting cast of tanks and creatures is also huge, varied and well worth the ticket price on this own. The otters are amazing (make sure you have the patience to wait to see them both on top of the water and later under as they dive and play in the water).
We love aquariums and this is comfortably amongst the cap best in the world that we have experienced.

Aquarium - Beautiful exhibits and a large variety of interesting sea creatures. I enjoyed the 360 views of the main tank as you visited the other smaller habitats. There is a very informative video available too. We also enjoyed the aerial tramway.

We expected better - We expected something else, since it is rated one of the largest in EUROPE...
We were disappointed even if the setting is pretty.
The tour takes 1 hour 30 minutes, taking your time.
For the record, nothing written in French.
We have seen the one from MONACO that is really great for him.

Makes you love sea animals...almost all of them:) - It feels like bring on a submarine and looking at these fishes so close.
Certainly you will be gappy that a thick glass keeps those sharks away! (And the same for jellyfish).
I loved the otters best.
Please please please AVOID the cable car ride: such a useless waste of energy linked to an attraction that repeatedly calls for protection of the environment.
The shop is as usual in these institutions hugely overpriced, avoid it

Overcrowded and misinformed - We went specifically to see the mola mola (ocean sunfish), but we were here to be dissappointed. The fish was heavily advertised but seemed to have died a while ago. We had to ask the staff to figure this out. It was heavily overcrowded and hard to see the animals. because of this.
On a positive note: the otters and manta rays were cool to see

Oceanário de Lisboa - Been here on a Friday morning and we didn't have to queue. So we thought it wasn't too crowded. Nothing could be further from the truth. There were far too many groups of schoolchildren in a row where you could wonder who were louder: the children or the counselors. The counselors tried to keep the children quiet; without success. Result: constant noise of screaming children, children running around and crawling in front. In this way we looked at the animals as quickly as possible to get ahead of the large groups. Let the groups of schoolchildren per group in every 15 minutes and have the staff keep an eye on them inside and you have divided the crowds a bit.
About Oceanário de Lisboa itself:
This aquarium was a bit disappointing. Not only because of the aforementioned, but it also felt a bit small! There is a huge tank in the middle in which you can admire a different kind of animals from different heights (there are two floors). In the two circles you walk you will find even smaller spaces with other animals and also a tropical rainforest.
It was very beautiful, but it was all just not. I felt there were few animals, little time to take a good look at everything because of the crowds and we were ready within an hour and a half, so not three/four hours which many here indicate.
I personally liked Oceanogràfic in Valencia much better!
