- Palacio Nacional e Jardins de Queluz - Explore the captivating Queluz Palace, a remarkable structure that evolved since the 17th century and is often “overlooked.” The palace showcases Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical architectural styles, while the gardens draw inspiration from French designs. One of the initial rooms visited is the stunning Throne Room, where royalty once welcomed guests. Adorned with gold carvings and mirrors, it easily transports visitors back to an era of elegant balls.
- Sintra - On the drive to Sintra, uncover its history and, most notably, the natural park, which was entirely hand-planted centuries ago.
- Parque e Palacio de Monserrate - Monserrate attracted many international visitors, particularly the British, who admired its beauty in their travel writings and engravings. When Francis Cook visited, he was captivated. His passion led to the creation of a Romantic masterpiece: the Park and Palace of Monserrate. Francis Cook realized his dream by transforming Monserrate into what is known today, with its lush gardens featuring exotic species from around the globe. This palace is a true tribute to romantic architecture, showcasing Francis Cook’s refined taste and the brilliance of architect James Knowles Jr., who integrated various influences. However, the history of this enchanting site is marked by numerous vicissitudes. Join us to discover it.
- Cabo da Roca - While in Sintra, seize the opportunity to visit Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. It stands about 140 meters above the sea, offering a splendid panoramic view of Sintra’s mountain range and the coast, making it a worthwhile visit.
- Cascais - After passing Guincho Beach and driving along the coast, arrive at Cascais. Located near the sea and traditionally a fishing village, Cascais experienced significant development in the 14th century, becoming a major stopover for boats en route to Lisbon, transforming it into a bustling port. It gained even more historical significance during World War II, serving as inspiration for the famous spy, “Bond. James Bond” 007. Discover the details with your guide.

This full-day excursion provides ample time to explore all the historically significant spots and appreciate the area’s natural beauty. You have the option to visit one of Sintra’s two lesser-known monuments:
The National Queluz Palace or the Natural Monserrate Palace. These are two of Sintra’s lesser-known and often “overlooked” palaces, away from the crowded Pena Palace.
After exploring Sintra’s highlights, the tour will continue through the National Park of Sintra to the coastline. There, you will visit Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, and before heading back to Lisbon, the tour will pass through the coastal village of Cascais.
Please note that only one of the two monuments is included. Let us know your preference, or we can make an “adaptation” for you. Please inform us of your choice.
