Bluffing - Beautiful and exceptional site. Bluffed by this well going underground. I recommend. It’s quite easy even with my crutches, you have to be careful not to slip on the steps going down the well. Otherwise the paths are very passable.

Great day exploring! - It was a wonderful day! Our tour guide Leonor was amazing. She passed on so much knowledge about Portugal and Portuguese culture. I had a knee replacement last year, so I found the walking up and down the hills hard. I think this is great for able bodied people, but wouldn’t recommend to anyone with arthritis or a mobile disability. That being said Leonor was great and didn’t rush us! She waited and we took our time. Wonderful experience! Definitely a must see.

Great tour of Sintra! - Thank you for this great tour. It was really nice to visit two different sites with special atmosphere and taste the best Pasteis de nata at Sintra. Really worth it and we recommend.

Awesome Adventure! - Inez was such a wonderful guide. She kept us all in great spirits as we climbed up and down the hills of Sintra. And she made the histories and stories come alive with her knowledge and personality. The Regaleira and Pena Palaces were beautiful, and Sintra was a charming place to have lunch.

Can't miss tour. - We not only experienced a great tour we were fortunate to have an incredible tour guide. Ines kept it fun while explaining the history in an easy to digest way. Amazing sites for the eyes. Once she learned of our interest in football, she helped us in getting gameday tickets. A great finish to our day cheering for Benfica. Thanks Ines.

Great Experience! - This was a really great visit to Sintra and the surrounding area. Pena Palace was closed so we went to the National Palace of Queluz which is an excellent alternative. It felt more authentic with beautiful decorations, furniture and gardens! The Quinta de Regaliera was also fascinating - you cannot miss the well! Plenty of free time for lunch. Our guide Carlos was great and this was a small group.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK - Please read so you can avoid our mistakes if you book. The Regalia itself does NOT do guided tours. They are all booked through third party sites. This will become extremely confusing if you arrive and your tour guide is late. Ours unfortunately was late and they tried to contact me but apparently were never able to get through. Which seems like a failure on their part since they had both my email and my phone number from when I booked and I received no phone call or email. But also, according to the guide, they are late often due to traffic on the single road into sintra. We arrived at the gate, 15min before our tour time with a “skip the line ticket”. The lady at the gate who works for the Regalia told us there were no guided tours and that we didn’t have an official ticket and whatever we bought was a scam. This was so confusing for us and because we didn’t have any contact number for the tour, we watched our tour time come and go. Luckily we begged another tour guide to help us out, and she was able to contact our tour company who explained them being late. When our tour guide DID show up (and yes it’s at the gate, so if they’re late just WAIT AT THE GATE even if nobody with a blue flag or whatever is there), we were able to essentially skip the line with her. And it’s worth it because otherwise that line is hella long. Also, please note that if you make the mistake we did and drive PAST the regalia on the one way road. There is a parking lot 100m ahead on the right through a tiny cement archway that you can park. And they have you pay 15 euros. And maybe it’s a scam, but it allowed us to park easily and walk the 2min to the Regalia rather than parking down at the historical circle where you’re supposed to park (although I believe it’s free) and walking super far up the hill, or driving way past the regalia and trying to find random street parking which is nearly impossible. And it’s one way, so if you completely miss your opportunity to find parking you’d have to make a loop again so you DONT want to miss a parking opportunity and we seriously got lucky. Also plan to arrive 45min earlier than you were initially planning because traffic is AWFUL since it’s a one way road. Ines, however, was amazing and very informative. The history of the home and property was so informative and helped you appreciate the area you were touring. And I highly do recommend taking a tour

The Regulars castle was... - The Regulars castle was beautiful and the guided garden tour was great. We did not get a 360 degree view bus which was disappointing because we paid for that. We also were told in the description that we got tickets to Pena palace which we did not and had to purchase separately. This happened to half our group so we purchased garden tickets. We were happy to explore the gardens but were not given the opportunity and were asked to meet at the top of the castle and had to wait for the people going into the castle. Great locations. Maybe just a different tour company. Guides were knowledgeable kind and great just not well organized.
