- Cascais - Begin with a hotel pick-up, leading to an amazing surprise before arriving in Cascais. This charming village, famous for its stunning mansions, the fishermen’s bay, and delightful fish and seafood restaurants, will leave a lasting impression as a place to return to.
- Cabo da Roca - The journey continues along the coast towards Guincho beach, a venue for annual windsurfing and kite surfing championships. The route then leads through the mountains surrounding the beach to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, offering a stunning view of the coastline and the Atlantic Ocean. A surprise awaits between Guincho beach and Cape Roca. Interestingly, New York lies almost at the same latitude on the opposite side of the Atlantic.
- Adega Regional de Colares - Travel through the Sintra/Cascais natural reserve to the Colares wine region, where another surprise awaits. This regional cellar produces wine from Europe’s westernmost vineyards. The ocean’s proximity and sandy soil create the unique Colares wines. Operating since 1931, the cellar remains preserved in its original state. Enjoy lunch here. Did you know this wine region was the only one to survive the Phylloxera plague that devastated vineyards across Europe?
- Sintra - The next stop is the enchanting town of Sintra, where visitors can savor regional sweets. Notable figures like Lord Byron, Hans Christian Andersen, and composer Franz Schubert have visited here. There is an optional visit to Palacio da Vila, Monserrate Palace, or Queluz Palace. The tour concludes with a return to the hotel for drop-off and the end of services.

Friendly trustworthy tour, would recommend - Joao was a great tour guide, super friendly and made our trip/tour very comfortable. He showed us Sintra as well as some other local more hidden gems and was very knowledgeable. He was very accommodating and made sure we saw everything we wanted to see as well as showing us some places we would have never known about. Would highly recommend him as a very trustworthy tour guide.

Perfect intro tour of the Lisbon area - left us wanting to come back! - Joao was amazing on our tour, very friendly, relaxed as well as knowledgeable and passionate about Portugal. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and saw as much as possible in one afternoon 😊

Best tour in Sintra - Joao was amazing! We did the Sintra and Cascais tour; and we had such a lovely time. The hidden surprises that he showed us made us feel like locals. We’d highly recommend his tour as it was relaxing, insightful and full of beautiful scenery.
At the end of the day we all sat around talking about how much fun we had and how much we’d love to do another tour with Joao!

Customized Tour - Joao was lovely! Went with a group of 7 picked us up from our Airbnb and from the start had great conversation and energy. Originally booked for a half day but it turned into a full day. Went to Sintra, Cascais and customized the tour to our interests. Would highly recommend booking with him!

Best tour in Portugal - We had the absolute pleasure of touring Portugal with Yolo tours. From the moment we met him, it was clear we were in the hands of someone who is not only incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but also deeply passionate about sharing the beauty, culture, and hidden gems of this amazing country.
He tailored the experience perfectly to our group’s interests – whether it was history, food, nature, or just a good laugh, he delivered it all with charm and expertise. We never felt rushed, and every moment felt personal and thoughtful, like we were being shown around by a close friend who just happens to know everything about Portugal.
What stood out the most was his storytelling – every site came alive through the way he described its history and meaning. And let’s not forget his great restaurant recommendations and local tips that we never would’ve found on our own.
If you’re visiting Portugal and want more than just the touristy version of things, do yourself a favor and book a tour with this amazing man. It’ll be the highlight of your trip – it certainly was for us!

Great time with great people! - Amazing experience. Everything was well coordinated and the hidden surprises were a perfect touch that only a passionate guide could have found and added to a tour. It did not feel like we were with a guide, but rather a friend. Thank you for the amazing tours!!

A Wonderful Day - Fantastic day! Our guide, Joao Paulo was knowledgeable, friendly and understood what would most interest us: a true professional and personally most likeable. He showed us things off the beaten track of the tour, and explained. them. The route itself was a wonderful ride through pleasing landscapes. We could not have asked for better.

Experience Lisbon delights with the best of tour guides! - We did 2 day tours with Joao Paulo Poirez - 1st day was a trip to Sintra, Caiscais and Estoril. The 2nd day was the City highlight tour of Lisbon & Belem. We were picked up at our hotel in a beautiful airconditioned Mercedes Tourer. Joao is highly knowledgeable and professional, but with the personable edge. He adjusted to our requirements as my husband has some mobility difficulties. Joao went out of his way to help him in order that we did not miss out on any experiences, or 'surprises', he had for us! He was humorous, friendly, imparted his love of Portugal and the culture in such a way that we will go home to Cape Town, South Africa and tell everyone wishing to visit this country to book with him. It is our intention to plan a trip with Joao in 2026 to discover the areas north of Lisbon that he described in such a way that we cannot resist. He does go the promised 'extra mile' and we highly recommend him for the best of tour experiences.
We will advise our travel agent Susan Roth of Upstream travel of this wonderful experience so that she could also recommend Joao to her other clients.
