- Slovenia - Experience a personalized small group tour with a well-organized schedule. An experienced local tour operator’s chauffeur-guide will pick you up at a designated location for an informative hourly journey to Bled, where your unique alpine adventure begins.
-
Bled - Visit Bled to soak in the serenity of the lake and the refreshing alpine air. Ample time is provided to select two experiences from several options available at an additional cost:
- Enjoy a ride on a ‘pletna,’ a traditional handmade wooden boat, to the lake island. The rowers use manpower as in the past, enhancing the memorable experience. The tiny, tear-shaped island invites you from the shore, and the ‘pletna’ boat ride is truly thrilling. Climb 99 steps and ring a bell to make your wishes come true.
- Explore Bled Castle, perched over 100 meters above the lake on a cliff. This medieval fortress features towers and a terrace with breathtaking views. Inside, discover a unique treasure: a reconstructed Gutenberg wooden printing press, where a master printer demonstrates ancient printing techniques on handmade paper.
- Take a leisurely stroll along the lake shore and enjoy the natural beauty.
- Visit a local patisserie to taste Bled’s renowned cream cake – kremšnita. Try it for yourself.
- Slovenia - From Bled, enjoy an hourly drive to Postojna, home to the famous Postojna Cave, one of Slovenia’s most impressive underground wonders.
-
Postojna Cave - The Pivka River has sculpted the Postojna Cave over 2 million years. As the water level changed, it created a stunning “multi-level” underground world filled with stalactites, stalagmites, columns, curtains, and other beautiful formations, formed as water deposited layers of limestone.
Enter the cave by train for a 10-minute ride, followed by a guided walking tour. The cave is naturally peaceful and completely dark without lights, but it has been electrified since 1883.
Around 100 animal species inhabit the cave, with the main attraction being the proteus or human fish, initially mistaken for a baby dragon. Postojna Cave is one of Slovenia’s longest cave systems. - Slovenian Istria - From the karstic wonders of Postojna Cave, proceed to your next destination. After a one-hour drive, arrive at the coastal town of Piran.
- Piran - The next destination is Piran, where you will feel as if you have stepped into a picture postcard. Be enchanted by walks through narrow, winding streets! At the main square, you will be welcomed by the statue of Piran’s most famous son, Giuseppe Tartini, a composer and virtuoso violinist. Ascend to the dramatically situated Cathedral of St. George, the city’s patron. Back at the pier, you might see fishermen unraveling fishing nets and counting their daily catch. Learn more about salt – the white gold of Piran!
- Slovenia - After a delightful full-day experience, return to Ljubljana. Drop-off will be at the same location as pick-up.
