London - Begin your journey from London to Stonehenge, enjoying some of London’s finest sights from your hotel. The travel time to Stonehenge is approximately 2 hours.
Stonehenge - Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England, about two miles (3 km) west of Amesbury. It features an outer ring of vertical sarsen standing stones, each approximately 13 feet (4.0 m) tall, seven feet (2.1 m) wide, and weighing around 25 tons, topped by horizontal lintel stones. Inside is a ring of smaller bluestones, and within these are free-standing trilithons, two larger vertical sarsens joined by a lintel. The entire monument, now in ruins, is aligned with the sunrise on the summer solstice. Please book tickets in advance on their website, as this will incur an additional cost. Entrance to Stonehenge: Adult £23.30, Child (5-17 years) £14.00.
Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway - The renowned Lynton and Lynmouth funicular Cliff Railway, which opened in 1890, is the highest and steepest fully water-powered railway in the world! This historic funicular Cliff Railway is a silver award winner in Devon’s Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2020 and holds the Green Tourism ‘Gold’. The Cliff Railway connects the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, offering breathtaking coastal views that will be a highlight of any visit. This working heritage railway is grade II listed, the UK’s only fully water-powered railway, and one of just three examples left in the world! Perched on the cliff top, 500ft above the lower station, is the grade II listed Cliff Top Cafe, offering perhaps the best location for a Cream Tea in the Westcountry. With stunning views and delicious food, it’s the perfect spot before exploring the other attractions Lynton and Lynmouth have to offer.
