The friendly spider experience - I cannot recommend the Friendly Spider Programme at London Zoo enough. Before attending, I was severely phobic of spiders. I couldn’t even look at a picture of one, say the word “tarantula,” or touch a toy spider, I couldn't even open a spider shaped sweet for my friends little girl! I booked this with my mum as she's almost as bad as me with spiders, and we can honestly say it was an amazing experience. From the moment the session began, Dave, John and the volunteers were incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. They never rushed me and made me feel safe at every step. Over the course of four hours (with plenty of tears, shaking, and doubts on my part), they gently guided me through learning about spiders, facing my fears, and building my confidence. The highlight, something I never thought I’d say in my lifetime, was that by the end of the programme I not only managed to catch a house spider in a cup, but I actually HELD a tarantula… twice! So did my mum! This was all thanks to Dave the spider handler, I 100% wouldn't have done it without his encouragement and patience. This is one of the proudest moments of my life. If you are scared of spiders, no matter how severe your phobia may be, I would recommend this programme a thousand times over.

Fun! 5 stars! - This is an excellent zoo! Easy to access from the tube or bus. Right in gorgeous Regent's park (check out the roses!) They have a fantastic and growing collection! The lion cubs are teenagers now! The gorillas have 2 playful adorable babies. The reptile house is very nice with new fun exhibits! I love the giant Chinese salamanders! Very unique! There are several food options and great spaces for children. Well worth a trip! The membership is a great deal if you live nearby! The butterfly house was really active! And the colobus monkey walk through is brilliant and one of a kind!

Helpful staff! - I took my mum and sister to London Zoo recently and had an absolutely brilliant time. We particularly enjoyed the talks for the penguins and (my personal favourite) the tigers. The person giving the Tiger talk (I believe her name was Carrie), was especially helpful. Not only did she give a thoroughly interesting and inciteful talk, but she also hung around for ages afterwards and answered all of our follow up questions. She was also kind enough to point out some of the must see attractions which we'd somehow managed to miss (including Gorilla babies and Lion Cubs!). A great time was had by all and we're already planning our next trip. Would 100% recommend.

A great day out - We spent a fabulous day at London zoo. We arrived at 11am and left at 5:45pm and we would have happily spent more time there as we didn't cover everything. There are so many animals to see! Highlights for us were the gorillas and the penguins. We could have watched the baby gorillas all afternoon, they were adorable and fascinating to watch. The zoo was very clean and tidy (even the toilets!). The staff and volunteers who we encountered were friendly and knowledgeable . It was interesting to learn about the conservation work that the zoo does and to understand the important role that every animal plays in the wild.

Great birthday day out - We had such a fantastic family day out at London Zoo! There’s so much to see and do for all ages, and the kids were completely captivated from start to finish. One of the real highlights for us was the gorilla talk with Ralph – he was brilliant. Not only was he engaging and knowledgeable, but he also made the experience fun and memorable for everyone. The baby gorillas were super cute!

Great day out - surprisingly educational for young preschooler! - Had a great time with my young daughter over the summer holidays - really appreciated all the extra pop up events they had set up in preparation for the new role play area. She was a big fan of the poo identification! Also loved the animal talks, she has been sharing facts about Komodo dragons ever since - and special thanks to Ralph for patiently answering her (not always so relevant) questions

My parents loved the Zoo - Took my parents to the London Zoo, as they are animal lovers. Had a lovely day out with family. Such a huge park and so many animal enclosures, with a map to guide you. There is something for every animal lover to enjoy. My parents' favourite were the penguins up close. My favourites were the enclosure of squirrel monkeys running around you freely & the comical pelicans & the giraffe enclosure. There are so many species ranging from reptiles to invertebrates to amphibians to birds and mammals--that to enjoy the zoo fully, at least 2 days are required. Lots of walking to do. The zoo is well-maintained and the animals seem well looked after. No issues faced with the staff. Only downside- the animal soft toys on sale at the exit were too expensive and I could observe parents of young children hurrying them outside. Also wish the ticket would allow optional entry for 2 consecutive days, to see the entire park properly.
