Piccadilly Circus - Get a close-up view of Admiralty Arch and hear some intriguing stories. While at the Arch, see a building described as an “offense to London architecture” and discover why the Mall is red as we head towards Buckingham Palace. Along the way, enjoy tales of fraud, intrigue, and Westminster’s Gasketeers. Westminster offers so much, with numerous monuments and hidden gems. Walking along the red Mall, we pass St James’s Park to the King George VI monument and Queen Elizabeth. During the war, the Queen Mother resided at Buckingham Palace; see the tribute to her work and hear a few royal stories. The Mall towards Buckingham Palace offers the best views of the oldest and original working Westminster gas lamps up close.
-
St. James’s Palace - This royal residence is full of fascinating stories. A Tudor marvel dating back to the 13th Century, it has been the site of royal proclamations and home to an ancient royal baby-swapping scandal. St James’s Palace is the most senior and intriguing in Westminster, London. Learn about its captivating history as a former hospital and Tudor residence, and discover its current use. On specific days, this is the best place to witness the Changing of the Guard.
-
Buckingham Palace - Iconic Buckingham Palace, Westminster’s jewel. We walk past Buckingham Palace and its Golden Monument to Queen Victoria. Capture selfies in front of the palace. We’ll explore the beautiful Dominion Gates while sharing stories from Queen Victoria’s time and how Buckingham Palace came to be, along with speculation on why King Charles III does not reside there. Also, ask about the King James Mulberry bush. There’s time for photos and a climb up the golden Victoria Monument.
-
Houses of Parliament - Arriving at this World UNESCO Heritage site, there’s plenty to see. Big Ben in the Elizabeth Tower, recently renovated and looking stunning on the world stage of attractions; Westminster Palace, also known as the Houses of Parliament, the seat of English and UK government and politics; Westminster Great Hall, where kings have been tried for treason and others have played tennis; Westminster Abbey with 2,000 years of history; and The Supreme Court, the highest in the land. Parliament Square is in the center of Westminster itself, on the banks of the River Thames, in sight of the Shard and the Eye. Afterward, explore the rest of London with a souvenir map of all the places visited. Feel free to ask for recommendations on where to go next, how to find affordable theatre tickets, and where to enjoy a good meal.
-

-
Changing of the Guard - If it’s a day when the guard is changing, we’ll head to St James Palace for a view. Usually on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 11 am, but it can be canceled at short notice by the army. We always pass by St James Palace.
-
Chinatown - Walk through Gerrard Street if you haven’t been before. Stop at the supermarkets or any other shops that catch your interest.
