Well worth the trip - It was wonderful to see the sights of Winton and the Dinosaurs. The work that has gone into this display is top class. We are so glad that we went. The day was well organised, and the bus driver was very informative.

Loved Winton - We went on the Winton Dinosaur day tour which included lunch at North Gregory Hotel and Matilda museum. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was an unexpected pleasure for my husband and I to absolutely enjoy listening to the poet Gregory North reciting Banjo Paterson poems and relate the true beginnings of the Waltzing Matilda’s lyrics. We would probably have liked to stay a bit longer in Winton as there s much to visit. We were impressed the pride shown in Winton with its mid street well maintained flower gardens considering its skirted by arid landscape.

Ancient Winton at its Best!! - Amazing to hear about how the dinosaurs came to be in the area in the first place (Winton). The history of the district, being an inland sea some many millions of years ago? The whole tour was well organised, Banjo Paterson's pub in Winton, Waltzing Matilda Museum, and the delightfully moreish anzac biscuits with fresh tea.

Discovering dinosaurs - Very comfortable coach trip from Longreach, great driver, knowledgeable, plus so humorous. ( I think it was Duncan). The presentation was great, not rushed and those that could not see/ hear all were able to have this repeated. The Architecture blended in beautifully so as not to be obtrusive. So well planned. The views around the area were astounding, it was hard to believe that we were so high to achieve these views. Prior to this I had no idea that dinosours were ever even in Australia.

Awesome day in Winton. - The day tour to Winton was amazing. We were picked up by bus from our lodgings by Outback Pioneers at 6:30 in the morning and we were off for a day of discover. Our first stop was the Age of Dinosaurs Centre. What a fantastic place to visit if you’re interested in palaeontology. Fossils of dinosaurs were discovered in the region about thirty years ago and from then on, this marvellous centre was built for those interested in dinosaur fossils. The tour guide explained the long and slow process of digging up and ensuring the preservation of these fossils and live sized bronze statues showed us what they would actually have looked like when alive. Then it was off to Winton Centre for lunch at the The North Gregory Hotel and we were entertained by Gregory North who recited poetry by Banjo Patterson who lived in Winton for a while. A wander in town after lunch then back on the bus for the return to Longreach at around 4:10 in the afternoon. A great day out.

Winton Day tour - An early morning start pick up at 6.30am but everything well organised our bus driver Duncan was lovely and very informative. At the Age of the Dinosaur we had a lovely girl Jorgie as our guide and she had so much joy and enthusiasm, she obviously loves what she does and it certainly makes the experience something to remember.

Average Outback Experience - Our driver was very experienced and gave us the local knowledge but I found many of his comments boring, dated and sexist - considering most of travelers were women ! The lunch at Winton Northern Hotel was more of a kids sized meal of either fish n chips or bangers and mash - both pretty cheap meals to prepare.
