Participants climb as a group on various trees, ranging from 100 to 200 feet tall, including a mix of rare old-growth and second-growth trees. Depending on the group’s dynamics and individual abilities, climbers may ascend one to four trees. Scaling 20 stories up in Coastal Douglas Fir Trees provides a stunning perspective and views that are rarely seen. At the canopy’s peak, climbers are rewarded with spectacular vistas of mountains, wildlife, and the ocean.
No prior experience is required, but participants must be at least 8 years old.
Learn to ascend large trees using ascenders until reaching the branches, where you can then climb to the canopy’s top! The ascender technique resembles performing squats.
As the climb occurs at night, it is important to dress warmly in athletic attire, including long pants that cover the ankles, and athletic shoes. Wearing clothes that can get dirty or damaged is advisable. All other necessary equipment will be provided.
