Great movie houses of Hollywood - Informative walking tour of downtown Los Angeles to visit the great movie theaters of the Hollywood era. Mark introduced us to the history behind the growth of a farming town that developed into one of the largest cities in the US. Fun stop at The Last Bookstore with a massive collection of new and used books, The Bradbury building with beautiful iron works of the early 1900s and a repurposed theater brought back to its glory by Apple.

Excellent Downtown Los Angeles walking tour - One of the best walking tours we’ve done! Mark is an excellent guide who explains the history of Downtown Los Angeles in a way that is easy to understand and really engaging. The mix of film history, architecture, and city stories makes the whole area come alive. If you want to understand DTLA beyond the surface, this tour is perfect.

Engaging, Fun and Informative LA Walk - I loved this tour. I’m from Ukraine and have been living in the U.S. for four years, visiting a friend in LA — and this walk felt like being shown the city by a curious, passionate friend. Mark’s background (European roots and time living in China) gave him a fresh way of seeing things. He pointed out little details I’d never notice and tied them into the bigger story of downtown — its boom-and-bust past, the slow comeback, and what might come next. We stopped at a bunch of spots, and every place had a story. Mark mixed architecture and interior-design tidbits with funny, unexpected local stories that made the tour feel lively and personal. He welcomed questions, was genuinely excited to share, and made everyone laugh a few times. If you want more than just photos and names — if you want to actually feel the city and hear the stories behind it — go on this tour. Highly recommend.

Fun and unique! - Simply put, this was an excellent trip led by Mark and his unique yet necessary lens of showing Los Angeles as a melting pot of cultures. I went into the trip blind and was pleasantly surprised to visit places I have always wanted to - - the Bradbury Building and The Last Bookstore - - as well as deeply learn about hidden corners in DTLA with rich social and art history. Mark is passionate about sharing his knowledge of LA and I highly recommend this trip for people interested beyond the usual tourist fares of the city.

Pretty good tour - Tour was pretty good. Would have liked a bit more architecture information as tour was more abt film industry impact on LA. But overall an enjoyable experience.

Less about Architecture - It's a tour about general and movie history as well as current happenings in LA with a little about the historic buildings. Definitely not an architecture tour.
