Just a two-hour car ride away from Quito city, you can find the incredible Mindo cloud forest on the northwest side of Pichincha volcano. This extraordinary location is renowned for its birdwatching opportunities as well as various activities like trekking towards the Mindo Nabillo waterfall, exploring the chocolate factory, and visiting the butterfly farm. It has a slightly tropical climate.

Mindo cloud forest area and middle of the world solo tour - My tour guide Pedro was warm knowledgable and flexible in My tour of the Mindo cloud forest. The Hummingbirds, chocolate factory and tasting, lunch and an additional stop on the return that I requested at the middle of the world monument went above my expectations. Well done

Mindo private tour - Wonderful day with Pedro. I did a private tour which meant we could focus on birds and butterflies. I love seeing the many types of hummingbirds and havng them feed from my hand along with Toucans and even an agouti. Nice pace with plenty of variety from a one hour hike to a waterfall, butterfly farm where we can hand feed butterflies, bird watching and chocolate tasting. Highly recommend for people who only have one day to spend in Mindo.

Memorable trip made even better by our guide Ayrton Cevallos - Our ToursByLocal to Mindo Cloud Forrest and Birding Tour was fantastic. Highlight of the tour for me was experiencing humming birds coming to feed on my hand. Tour was made even better by our guide/driver, Ayrton Cevallos, who was very knowledgeable, friendly, caring, patient and accommodating. Thank you very much Aryton.

A great day out. - My driver and guide, Pedro, was great at both. Very careful when driving and giving just the right amount of information about things we passed and the places we stopped. He also found good places for food and drinks. Lastly, he went out of his way (literally) to help me find something I needed to buy.

Incredible day out feeding hummingbirds / butterflies and tasting chocolate and coffee - Pedro was an incredible host. Super helpful, friendly and informative. You cannot ask for a better guide! We had an incredible experience feeding hummingbirds and butterflies as well as tasting coffee and chocolate. We recommend 100% (especially if you have Pedro for your guide!)

Mindo is must see - Pedro was an excellent guide for a day trip to Mindo from Quito. He is very personable and knows a lot about Mindo and Ecuador, in general. Pedro was right on time for the pick up and made sure I had a great time with all of the activities Mindo has to offer. The highlight for me was the hummingbird sanctuary. You’ll just have to see for yourself, as my words won’t do it justice. I highly recommend adding this day trip to your schedule if you’re in Quito, and definitely request Pedro!

Mindo trip - Pedro is great guide, very caring and his knowledge about the local and all type of birds are very impressive. The trip is very enjoyable with a lot of activities. You should bring your swimming suite :)

Amazing time in Mindo - I had a fabolous time in Mindo. Pedro, the Tourguide is very knowledgeable and made this trip unique. We changed the schedule to my needs and were able to see, besides of the beautiful hummingbirds, tucans! The hike to the beautiful waterfalls was stunning. Even though I am vegetarian- Pedro always found solutions and great food! On the way back, we managed to see Mitad del Mundo, which I am very grateful for. I can highly recommend this tour! Thanks a lot for this day, Pedro!
