Booked a Tour, Got Ghosted—Then Harassed for Speaking Up - We were genuinely excited about this tour. We skipped meals in anticipation, paid for an Uber to the meeting spot, and arrived on time, eager to explore the local food scene. But what should’ve been a highlight of our trip turned into a total disaster. No guide ever showed up. There was no signage, no communication, no notice of cancellation—nothing. We waited around, confused and frustrated, and then we had to reach out to the company. Only then were we told that the tour wasn’t happening because they “forgot” to check whether anyone had signed up. That level of disorganization is unacceptable for any tour company. To their credit, they refunded the cost of the tour—but that doesn’t begin to cover the inconvenience, the money we spent getting there, or the time we wasted. We missed out on an evening we had planned our day around, and by the time we found out the tour was canceled, it was too late to make other arrangements. As if that weren’t bad enough, after I posted this honest review, the tour guide reached out to harass me directly. She stated that after seeing my photo, she “knew the type of person” I was and expected “this kind of behavior” from me. This level of unprofessionalism is not only inappropriate—it’s completely unacceptable. I’ve taken food tours all over the world—Japan, Germany, South Korea, Paris, and throughout the United States. We’ve never once had an experience this disorganized, dismissive, or hostile. Tour companies are in the business of hospitality, and this was the complete opposite. If you value your time, your money, and your dignity, I strongly recommend booking elsewhere. We were excited, open-minded, and ready to support a local business, and instead, we were stood up, ignored, and insulted.
