Put the lid back on the bucket! - We had an amazing time kayaking out with Barbara. On arrival to explore Tenerife, you are given a locker for your belongings and then fitted with wetsuits (optional) and life jackets, and a small waterproof bucket for any small items you need to take with you. Then it’s a short walk down to the beach where you are given a safety brief and tips on how to paddle etc.. Our guide was Barbara and she was great, very informative and made us feel at ease being out on the water. We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins, they were amazing! They came so close to us, we were so lucky as they stayed for a while too (although they were next to a fish farm, and were probably looking for lunch!) Unfortunately no turtles, but hey that’s the luck of the draw! We also spent some time snorkelling, which again was great. Then it was time to paddle back, this is when a little disaster struck. My partner stayed on the kayak whilst I snorkelled, I had a waterproof phone case which was round my neck the whole time, and I had put my sunglasses (raybans) in the waterproof bucket. But getting back in kayak was a little tricky, so I took my phone off my neck and passed it to my partner, got back in the kayak no problem. Next thing I knew, we were both in the water, he somehow managed to capsize us, only problem was, he didn’t put the lid back on the bucket 🤦‍♀️ luckily my phone was still in it it, but it was bye bye raybans! Moral of the story, don’t take anything with you you don’t need, if you do, put the lid back on the bucket! Barbara took some great pictures of us all and a video of the dolphins and emailed them to us all at the end of the day, so you really don’t need to take anything other than water, sun cream and a hat, oh and maybe some not so expensive sunglasses just in case! So although my sunglasses were given up to the sea, we had a great time and would definitely do it again, thank you for an amazing afternoon Barbara and team!

Amazing experience - Really impressive view once you get in the open ocean. The place we did snorkelling was full of fish and sealife. Our guide was very friendly and communicative. Please note that this activity involves physical effort, si if you are a sedentary person just book a boat and don’t ruin the fun for the other participants.

Kayaking around a fish farm - This kayaking was around fish farm. Unfortunately, if known ahead would not go. You kayak through the harbour to a fish farm, not very scenic, peaceful or natural. Did not feel like being in the nature, rather in a busy tourist place as there were many different groups of kayakers, boats, and ships. Even a fishing boat. Very likely there will be a very broad range of abilities, so expect waiting for others (if you are more experienced/athletic/skilled etc). However, we did not mind that (and may have gotten very lucky with the group ability). The instructors were very nice and helpful, but probably have to keep their eyes out for everyone in the group, especially when the ability varies. Felt commercial rather than an authentic way of seeing wildlife. Do not recommend.

Very disappointing - Really disappointing! We were coming from Las Palmas on the ferry and missed the ferry. We were able to take the next ferry to Tenerife. I call the company multiple times after 09:00 when they open and emailed them. They finally answered around 09:45. I explained to them what happened and requested to reschedule for either later that day or the next day. They refused stating that they were completely booked. That I would have to rebook and pay again! If I was able to rebook then they weren’t completely booked up as they said they were. Their excuse was that they left spots open for new bookings. If this was peek season and on a weekend then I may have understood a bit more but this is May and during the week a Tuesday and Wednesday. I just feel that could have been more understanding and accommodating.
