Besides vintage agricultural machinery, the sizeable…

Insightful and Enjoyable Experience - Trip was well organised, picked up from our NO hotel. Our journey to the plantation was narrated by our driver, who explained buildings and events of the area as we passed through the different districts. Plantation house tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and was open to any adhoc questions. The house and grounds are beautiful, and packed of so much history. Highly recommended.

An very Worthwhile Trip - The tour guide was very informative during the tour of the house. We toured the slave cabins afterwards and the displays were very informative. Lastly we viewed the video on the sugar making process which was also very informative.

My vacation history lesson - Take time to allow the lessons to become part of the way you make your decisions. Many people need to learn to change their mindset about their history.

Beautiful trip. Lots of history to learn. - Just relax and enjoy. There is so much to learn about history during this trip. Also if possible, pick a day with a good weather, everything looks better with a nice sunlight.

Visit to New Orleans 2025 - Pick up was on time, comfortable transport. Lovely drive to the Plantation. Great historic experience and great display and depiction of the status quo of the past. I would have expected more information and insight about the slaves and the trading. It would have been more effective if a guide could go around the slave quarters with the tour group to share information about the slaves and their living experiences. It seems as if that information was not to be shared for what it was. All the focus is on the owner and his family. Even the video focuses on the sugar cane production and nothing about the slaves. In that way not so great.

Fine, but... - Don’t count on the driver’s guide to teach you anything. Very nice house and park with its wooden houses for stopovers were interesting. On the other hand the guided tour of the house is done in less than 20 min and you will not be able to eat in the park contrary to what is written. We have to get out of the park

Bus trip is shared with... - Bus trip is shared with travelers continuing on for a swamp tour. That makes the return trip to New Orleans longer. Also, the bus ride was rough and noisy. Seemed like one or more wheels were seriously out of balance.

Little time on the plantation - It is a very interesting visit but there is very little time you can see the plantation since of the 5 hours of tour are 3 trips and only two on site The oak alley plantation is very interesting to visit the typical mansion of a sugar farm and know part of the life of the slaves who built it
