Arrival in Luang Prabang
Luang Prabang - Upon reaching the airport, guests will be greeted and taken to their hotel. Luang Prabang is arguably the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The town’s tranquility and charm, along with its stunning natural scenery and cultural attractions, make it one of the most delightful destinations in Laos. The day is free for leisure to explore the city. Overnight stay in Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang City Tour (Lunch Included)
Luang Prabang - After breakfast, guests will enjoy a short guided tour of the city’s oldest temple, Wat Sene, and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong, known for its classical Laotian architecture with roofs sweeping low to the ground. The tour also includes a visit to the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrines of Wat Mai. Guests will then climb to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa and a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River. The tour concludes with a visit to the Night Market, offering a lovely selection of handmade textiles by local and hill tribe people around Luang Prabang. Overnight stay in Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang: Kuang Si Waterfall & Pak Ou Caves (Lunch Included)
Kuang Si Waterfall - After breakfast, guests will drive to Kuang Si Waterfall, where they can enjoy a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails.
Pak Ou Caves - The tour continues to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves filled with thousands of gold-lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, there is a stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, known for its local rice wine production. After visiting the Pak Ou Cave, the Pha An Limb Stone Cliff is not to be missed. Guests will then take a boat back to Luang Prabang City by sunset. Overnight stay in Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng by Train
Luang Prabang - An optional early start offers a fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting alms (often sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is unique to Laos, the only Buddhist nation still preserving this ritual. After breakfast, guests will visit the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. There is free time for tea and coffee before transferring to the train station for Vang Vieng. Upon arrival, there will be a drive around Vang Vieng City before transferring to the hotel. Overnight stay in Vang Vieng.
Explore Vang Vieng
Vang Vieng - After breakfast, guests will have the opportunity to visit “THAMNANGNONE,” the Angel Cave, which features a beautiful limestone cave with stories and shapes believed to represent hidden lives. Guests will then sail down the river to visit “Tham Jang,” another well-known beautiful limestone cave, and spend time relaxing at the Blue Lagoon. The small and colorful town is easy to explore. Overnight stay in Vang Vieng.
Vang Vieng to Vientiane by Road - Vientiane City
Vientiane - After breakfast, guests will drive to Vientiane, a journey of about 1.5 hours via highway. Upon arrival, the tour includes visits to the oldest temple, Wat Sisaket, known for its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which once housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. Guests will also visit the Lao national icon, That Luang Stupa, and stop to take pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, Vientiane’s own Arc de Triomphe. Overnight stay in Vientiane.
