- Palazzo Pfanner - Embark on a bike ride with one of our expert local guides to the top of the Renaissance Walls, offering a stunning view of the historic center. Shortly, you’ll be able to admire Lucca’s most beautiful private garden at Palazzo Pfanner.
- Le mura di Lucca - Enjoy a leisurely bike ride along the tree-lined boulevard of the Walls for approximately 2 kilometers. Then, explore the underground area of one of the Walls’ grandest bastions.
- Lucca’s Duomo (Cattedrale di San Martino) - Emerging back into daylight, the tour continues with a visit to the Cathedral of San Martino (Saint Martin), where the people of Lucca have long revered the wooden crucifix known as the Volto Santo. Inside, you’ll find many Italian masterpieces, including the sarcophagus of Ilaria del Carretto and Tintoretto’s Last Supper. A 3 euro fee is required to visit the interior, and your guide will accompany you to explain the various artworks and monuments.
- San Michele in Foro - Hop back on your bike and cycle through the narrow streets to Piazza San Michele (Saint Michael’s Square) and its magnificent church. Nearby is the birthplace of Lucca’s most famous figure, the opera composer Giacomo Puccini.
- Torre Guinigi - Return to the Walls to complete the circuit and admire the town’s towers, particularly the unique Torre Guinigi (Guinigi Tower) with its crown of ancient holm oak trees.
- Piazza Anfiteatro - Pause at the distinctive oval-shaped Piazza Anfiteatro (Amphitheatre Square), built on the ruins of the ancient Roman arena, and one of the town’s most picturesque spots. If you feel thirsty or hungry, inform your guide. There are numerous places to enjoy tastings of delicious local products and excellent Tuscan wine.
- Basilica of San Frediano - The final stops include the Church of San Frediano, one of Lucca’s oldest churches, renowned for its façade with a splendid gilded mosaic. A 2 euro fee is required to visit the interior, and your guide will join you to explain the various artworks and monuments.
