El Yunque National Forest - The day kicks off with a moderate to medium-level hike, where the discussion will focus on the local flora and fauna native to Puerto Rico, highlighting their significance in the island’s indigenous heritage. The hike is approximately 20 minutes into the rainforest (around 1 mile, or 4 laps around a track).
Upon arrival, belongings can be set aside as the group continues for another 10 minutes (0.25 miles) to reach the natural water slide for swimming. Life vests will be provided.
After everyone has enjoyed the water slide, the group will return to the belongings to experience some thrilling jumps and a rope swing.
To reward the effort, fresh seasonal fruit will be served! All activities will be documented with photos taken throughout the adventure! Photos or it didn’t happen!

El Yunque attracts around 1.5 million visitors annually. While we cannot control the influx of tourists to the Caribbean’s most visited island during peak times, please inquire about private excursions if you desire a more private experience!

Glad we didn’t do this alone! - Our tour guide René was super friendly and knowledgeable. There was so many people there that it was nice to have a guide walk us through the forest, long lines and take photos.

Fantastic adventure in nature! - Diego was a great guide and we had so much fun trekking through the rainforest and cooling off in the river. Our whole family did the rock slide, the cliff jump and the rope swing — so fun! Diego took excellent care of us and made sure we all felt safe. The fresh local fruit snack was a nice touch.

Small group, big fun! Great with kids. - Our tour got rescheduled twice due to heavy rainfall and flash flooding conditions, and we're genuinely glad it did. The operator prioritized safety over getting every booking out the door, and that speaks well of them. The day we ultimately went on was perfect.
We met our guide Diego at Frutera Flores in Luquillo. Pro tip: get there a little early and grab an acai bowl. They're excellent.
Diego was an outstanding guide. He clearly loves the rainforest and shared fascinating facts about the flora along the way, pointing out things we never would have noticed on our own. We had our 7 and 10 year old and he was patient but firm with them, which we appreciated. The hike itself is not super easy. There's mud, wet terrain, and some challenging climbing, but it's very manageable with the right footwear. Closed-toe shoes with good grip are the move. Keens for the kids and Tevas with good traction worked great for us.
The waterfall and natural rock slide were both incredible. The climbing to get there felt challenging but safe because Diego was right there with us. We also can't stress enough how much it mattered that we had a small group, just 8 people total across two families. Other groups we saw had 20 or more people. The difference was significant. We moved faster, could actually hear Diego when he was explaining things, and the overall experience felt personal rather than rushed.
If you're debating between a large group tour and this one, choose this one. Ask for Diego.

Family fun adventure - We went on Thursday, 4/9,
morning at 8 am with our tour guide Nelson. Nelson was knowledgeable and amazing at explaining all details and history of the trip. The rainforest is fun and it is definitely a family experience you don’t won’t to forget. Make sure to wear good shoes with grip because it is intense.

Great Tour Guide and El Yunque Rainforest Adventure - Our tour guide Sebastian and his female partner was exceptional. They were both knowledgeable about the El Yunque Rainforest tour. Sebas was a great tour guide. He picked and brought back my son and I for the Adventure tour. He was patient, kind and fun. This was a new experience for me rock climbing. It was fun especially crossing the water to the other side.
If I come back again I would do the El Yunque Rainforest Adventure tour again.
