- Museo de Sitio y Santuario Arqueológico de Pachacamac - The tour begins with the collection of each traveler from their hotel or Airbnb.
The journey will take us south of Lima in our private tourist transport, with the one-way trip taking approximately 45 minutes.
We will then explore the Pachacamac Site Museum, an archaeological site museum under the Ministry of Culture of Peru, located in the Lima department within the Pachacamac Archaeological Sanctuary.
The museum boasts a collection of over 6,500 registered artifacts made from various materials such as ceramics, wood, plant material, metal, and textiles, with around 290 items on display. A highlight of the museum is the idol of Pachacamac.
- Pachacamac - Continuing our tour, we will visit the Acllahuasi, or “Temple of the Virgins of the Sun,” a sacred area where women chosen for their skills, culinary talents, or beauty lived and worked in service to the State. Each major province or city of the Inca Empire had one, where local women were recruited. The Acllahuasi of Pachacamac was likely one of the largest and most significant on the coast.
Additionally, we will explore El Qhapaq Ñan, or the Great Inca Trail, one of the Inca Empire’s most remarkable achievements, showcasing a road system that authorized 25,000 kilometers of roads connecting Cusco with other parts of the Empire.
After visiting the sacred precincts in the lower area, we will ascend an elevated ramp leading to the Temple of the Sun.
- Museo de Sitio y Santuario Arqueológico de Pachacamac - Later, we will skirt the Temple of the Sun, constructed from adobe and featuring red paint.
It is the largest sun temple along the entire coast and likely required a significant organizational effort for its construction.
- Dpaso Mamacona - After our visit to the Pachacamac archaeological center, we will head to the Mamacona hacienda to enjoy a buffet lunch and a show featuring traditional dances from Peru’s three regions.
We will also witness a performance of the Peruvian Paso horse and have the opportunity to ride around the hacienda.
Finally, we will board our private transport to return to our respective hotels.
