Explore the rich history of Luxembourg, from the Middle Ages to the present, aboard our convertible buses. Experience the enchanting Mullerthal, known as “Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland,” the medieval town of Vianden in northern Luxembourg, and visit Echternach, the country’s oldest city.
Participants should be in good physical health. For each tour and stop, it is recommended to wear sturdy hiking shoes, particularly for the walking tour on the Mullerthal trail and at the Schiessentümpel waterfall.
Tour highlights include: the Mullerthal trail and Schiessentümpel, the medieval village of Vianden with its magnificent castle, and the historic town of Echternach, featuring the abbey and market square. Entry tickets to Vianden Castle are included, though a guide is not provided.
- Dogs are only partially allowed. They are allowed in the courtyard and in the cafeteria.
- Only foldable stroller allowed.
- If you want to make the most of your visit, please bring a packed lunch or a snack. This leaves you enough time to visit the center of the town and the Vianden Castle.

A Little Bit Of Luxembourg - We met up with our minibus and guide Gabbylinda (This is undoubtedly not her name) on the outskirts of the city at 9.30am.
We set off on the about 45 minute drive to Mullerthal, a very green and pleasant place, the nature walk wasn't really a walk due to some members of the group not being able to do it, so instead we had a brief talk about rocks and different ages of the area.
From there we had a very short ride to the highest waterfall in Luxembourg, if you are picturing Niagra or Angel falls then you might want to reign in your expectation to about 10% of that size. It is very picturesque and the bridge over it is beautiful with its animal carvings but even in a country as small as Luxembourg I would have thought something bigger.
Back on board the coach and next stop 15 minutes away Beaufort Chateaux, not open this time of year but I dont think we missed a great deal as we walked around the outside of this impressive building and saw everything we needed.
Back on board and 30 minutes later we were at probably the highlight of the trip Castle Vianden, right on the German border. On a hill looking over the Town of Vianden this castle dating back over 700 years is in fantastic condition with great views out over the surrounding woodland. Inside the beautifully designed rooms are layouts of how the rooms may have looked.
Our final stop as we followed the German border south was Ecternach for a walk around the oldest town in Luxembourg, there was a small Christmas market on and we looked around the church before heading back to the city and completing an eventful eight hours around the country.

Feedbacks that could help improve overall experience - Improvements
- Maybe if the tour itself can give complimentary bottled water, that would be great.
- Adding Tour Guide on van would potentially help smooth quick transfer between events
- Longer time to the locations as in some cases the time was not long enough
Sustainment
- The Tour itself was great choices for the whole day
- The Tour guides was phenomenal, both Patrick & Nicole was knowledgeable of their subject and have that charismatic sense of humor
- Having a driver that is not rushing and very safe on the road is definately a plus.

Awesome Luxembourg Tour - An overall tour of the outside areas of Luxembourg, which would be otherwise inaccessible by public transport. Because of this tour only I was able to cover all these areas in 1 day. Our tour guide cum driver was very polite and helpful and gave us compact guidance about the tour. They even had small guided tours of 45 minutes in Echternacht and Mullethral. An overall enjoyable day trip.

Must take this tour - We loved this tour. For one day we visited a lot of places, calm and satisfying tour. The only thing that I would like to change , it is the time in every city. Ee needed a little more time besides the excursion to walk a little by ourselves and to take some picture. But overall everything was ok.

This was a good way to... - This was a good way to get out of the city and explore more of Luxembourg.
The nature walk was lovely, Patrick was fab and I was sad he was with us for such a short time. The two castles were nice to explore and impressive in their own way. What was a real bonus was being in Vianden for the annual walnut festival! We’d known this before going and therefore whizzed round the castle, to spend most of our time soaking up the atmosphere (and the nut liquor!) in the town. We think it’s a shame that the driver didn’t know this event was happening and therefore didnt alert other guests to what was happening-the nut festival was even mentioned on the audio guide so this feels like a real miss.
We could had done without the final stop-maybe it was because it was a Sunday but there was very little to do apart from sit and have a drink. We’d have much rather spent longer in Vianden, but I appreciate the festival only happens once a year.

Decent but could be better - I wish I could split the rating into two parts. I would give Patrick and the brief nature part higher. I wished it would have been slightly longer as it was rushed but I enjoyed thoroughly.
The rest of the tour was ok. One challenge was our “tour guide”/driver did not speak English and everyone on the tour spoke English and not French.
He was a very nice gentleman, and there was a few paragraphs over an audio guide but much of the driving was in complete silence and when we arrived at castles, there was no guide but just “on your own” time at each location with confusion by all guests as what to do with our time. Since we all finished the castle in 30-40 minutes and unsure what to do with the full two hours at the stop.
So for the price, just expect that it is an all day uber with a decent mini-tour of the nature walk.

Twice as many people as advertised - Each of the activities were fine, especially enjoyed the hike to the waterfall guided by Patrick. The rest of the day was self-guided; our main driver didn’t speak English and his only contribution besides driving was to hold up a sign to let us know when to return to the bus. Sadly we paid for a trip with 10 people maximum and there were 19 (one no-show). Not a great value for the $ - I would just take public transportation.

Great operator but would not recommend Vianden - The tour operator did exactly what they were supposed to do and ran a good operation- friendly, timely etc. The locations themselves though are just not something I would do again or recommend. Echternach and Beaufort were nice. Vianden is beautiful from afar but completely costumed / carnival / super touristy vibes inside. A let down considering it was the main attraction for the tour.
