Reliable ride between Luxor and Airport - When we landed at Luxor Airport and needed a ride to the city, Ibid offered us a good price, gave good advice for the trip and was overall nice and helpful. This is especially appreciated because there are other people around the airport who are scammers, pretending to be Uber but then demanding a much higher price.

Mohamed - True Egyptian Hospitality - While I did not take any excursions with Ask the Egyptian Tours, I felt a need to write a general review of an individual at their company – Mohamed – for the assistance he provided me while I was in Luxor. As brief background, I had an overnight trip booked for Luxor through another touring group (Nice Tours – avoid them at all costs). The morning I was to fly back from Luxor to Cairo, Nice Tours failed to provide me my return ticket home and I was stuck at the Luxor airport. My phone connection was too poor to be able to go online and purchase a ticket and the airp[ort refused to allow anyone in (to purchase a ticket) without having a ticket already. Mohamed happened to be driving by after I was panicking for well over an hour. He immediately noticed I was in need of some assistance, that I was very anxious and in a worried state. The warmth and kindness of him was immediately felt. He offered to drive me into Luxor to get a better internet connection and/or drive me to a travel agency to purchase a ticket. I was handicapped in the methods of my purchase ability because I had left my wallet and thus only had some cash and contactless pay by phone available to me. Mohamed provided me with a hotspot connection from his phone and I quickly purchased a return flight ticket home. He drove me back to the airport for this flight. Little did I know, the ticket I purchased was for 8:50pm, not 8:50am. I was to be stuck in Luxor for approximately 13 or more hours until I could fly back. I again went into a state of despair and was again left without any connection to try and find a different flight. Mohamed, in his unending kindness, happened to circle back to the airport and check in on me if I had made it into the airport. When he saw me again in a panicked state, he informed me that he had checked the flights to Cairo on his own at the travel agency and that there was a single flight left before only evening flights. He offered to drive me to the agency and purchase this ticket via phone contactless pay. He also offered me again a phone connection good enough for me to cancel the ticket I had foolishly purchased. Once the ticket was purchased from the travel agency, Mohamed drove me back to Luxor airport. By this time, this gentleman had spent hours of his day selflessly helping a stranger in need. But, this was not the extent of Mohamed’s kindness – not at all – and not the greatest act of his compassion. No. When I arrived at the airport, I made it all the way to the gate when I realized I had left a pouch with hundreds of dollars in it in Mohamed’s car. This was all the cash I had remaining on me for the entire rest of my Egypt trip. I had accidentally left my wallet in America and had no means of pulling out additional cash. I again went into a panicked state. My plane was to take off in approximately 30-40 minutes. I abruptly messaged Mohamed. I admittedly had little faith that anyone would make the return trip to the airport again and would have the honesty to not take the money. To my shock and surprise, Mohamed immediately returned my message indicating he had the pouch of money and would return to the airport at once, as fast as he could. Mohamed managed to drive from the Valley of the Kings, taking even more time out of his day, to the airport in record time to meet me outside with the money. He did not take a single bill. This act saved an enormity of trouble for me and I could not thank him enough. I managed to make my flight and have stayed in touch with Mohamed nearly every single day since, including even after my return to America. Mohamed is the embodiment of Egyptian hospitality. He is a saint. A true generosity of heart and compassion that you won’t see anywhere else. He could have easily taken money, and I am certain many in Egypt would have but Mohamed – no. He is a very kind soul and was a savior to my vacation. Thank you, sir. Blessings be with you always. If you have the opportunity to book any excursion with Ask the Egyptian Tours, know that if you are lucky enough to have Mohamed, you are in great hands. Further, if you are an English speaker, know that Mohamed speaks wonderful English. You cannot go wrong with Mohamed and Ask the Egyptian Tours, just ask this American.

Very good experience with Eddie - Eddie's great. He helped me in everything, all the time. He knows Luxor very well and is much cheaper than other tours, where they take you to places you don’t want to go, such as papyrus shops, oil, etc. I recommend it 100%.
