- Abydos - Upon arrival in Abydos, begin your tour by exploring the ancient sites. Your first stop will be Abydos Temple. The Temple of Hathor at Dendara is considered one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, with vibrant colors still visible on its walls. Located about 135 km from Luxor, the ancient Egyptians believed the god of the underworld was buried here. The temple was initiated by King Seti I and completed by King Ramses II, and is also known as the Temple of Seti I.
Situated in Abydos city, approximately 420 km south of Cairo in the Suhag Governorate and 135 km from Luxor, the paintings of gods and pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple at Abydos are among the most beautifully preserved in Egypt.
