A Warm Welcome to Luxor
As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for experiences that are not only enriching but also stress-free for families. When I heard about the Luxor-Based Travel Company and their reputation for safe, air-conditioned, and customizable tours, I knew I had to experience it firsthand. My family and I landed in Luxor on a warm September afternoon, and from the moment we arrived, Mohamed and his team made us feel right at home. They met us at the airport with a friendly smile and a sign that read “Big Brother,” which immediately put us at ease.
Our first stop was our Airbnb to drop off our luggage, and then we were off to explore the Luxor Temple. The kids were fascinated by the ancient architecture, and I was grateful for the patience and flexibility Mohamed’s team showed as we took our time soaking in the history. It was a perfect start to our adventure, and I could already tell that this trip was going to be something special.
Discovering the Wonders of Luxor
Day two began with a suggestion from Mohamed that turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip—a sunrise balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings. Watching the sun rise over the ancient landscape was a breathtaking experience that left us all in awe. After the balloon ride, we explored the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s Temple, the Colossi of Memnon, and Karnak’s Temple. Each site was more impressive than the last, and Mohamed’s knowledge of the area added depth to our understanding of these historical treasures.
In the evening, with a bit of free time on our hands, Mohamed suggested renting a boat to watch the sunset on the Nile. It was a serene and magical experience that provided a perfect end to a day filled with exploration. The kids loved the boat ride, and it was a wonderful opportunity for us to relax and reflect on the day’s adventures.
A Journey Through Time
Our journey continued with a drive from Luxor to Aswan, stopping at the Ensa, Edfu, and Kom Ombo Temples along the way. Each temple offered a unique glimpse into Egypt’s rich history, and the kids were captivated by the stories and legends associated with each site. In Aswan, we visited the Unfinished Obelisk and spent the night before embarking on an early morning trip to Abu Simbel.
The drive to Abu Simbel was long, but the sight of the temple was worth every minute. The grandeur of the statues and the intricate carvings left us speechless. On our return to Aswan, we visited the Philae Temple before heading back to Luxor. Our final day took us north to the Abydos and Dendera Temples, rounding out a week of unforgettable experiences.
Throughout our journey, Mohamed and his team were reliable, accommodating, and always ready with a suggestion to enhance our experience. Their attention to detail and commitment to our comfort made this trip one of the most memorable family adventures we’ve had. If you’re planning a trip to Luxor, I highly recommend the Luxor-Based Travel Company. You won’t regret it!
