• Colossi of Memnon - The Colossi of Memnon are two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III from the 18th Dynasty, originally created to guard his mortuary temple. They are situated on the western bank of the Nile, opposite Luxor.
• Valley of the Kings - The rulers of Egypt’s prosperous New Kingdom (c.1550–1069 BC), specifically from the Eighteenth, Nineteenth, and Twentieth Dynasties, were interred in a barren dry river valley across from the ancient city of Thebes (modern Luxor), giving rise to its modern name, the Valley of the Kings. This name is somewhat misleading, as it also includes burials of some royal family members other than the king, as well as a few high-ranking non-royal individuals. The Valley of the Kings is split into the East and West Valleys. The eastern valley is the more renowned of the two, as the western valley contains only a few tombs. Altogether, the Valley of the Kings comprises over sixty tombs and an additional twenty unfinished ones that are essentially pits.
• Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Hatshepsut (c.1473–1458 BC), the queen who ascended to pharaoh, constructed a splendid temple at Deir al-Bahari, on the west bank of Luxor. It is directly across the Nile from Karnak Temple, the primary sanctuary of the god Amun. Hatshepsut’s temple, Djeser-djeseru, meaning “the Holy of Holies,” was designed by Senenmut, the chief steward of Amun.
• Temple of Medinat Habu - The Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu was a significant temple structure from the New Kingdom period, located on the West Bank of Luxor in Egypt.
• Valley of the Artisans (Deir el-Medina) - Deir el-Medina, also known as Dayr al-Madīnah, is an ancient Egyptian village that housed the artisans who crafted the tombs in the Valley of the Kings during the 18th to 20th Dynasties.
