Temple of Karnak - Begin your day at 07:00 with a pick-up from Luxor. Start the tour by visiting the Karnak Temple, the largest and most significant religious complex of ancient Egypt, situated on the East Bank of the Nile. Discover the impressive avenues of sphinxes and the vast halls of towering columns, a remarkable site showcasing the achievements of generations of ancient Egyptians.

Valley of the Kings - Cross the Nile to the west bank to explore the Valley of the Kings, one of the world’s most renowned archaeological sites. Used from the 16th to 11th century BC, this remote valley houses rock-cut tombs of pharaohs and nobles, including Tutankhamun, Ramses VI, Seti I, and others such as Ramses IV, Merneptah, Tuthmosis III, Amenhotep III, Tausert & Setnakht.

Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Proceed to visit the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, an extraordinary monument commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, one of ancient Egypt’s most successful pharaohs. The temple’s design and construction are unique among Egypt’s landmarks, as it is built directly into the cliffs of the Deir el-Bahari valley, harmoniously blending with the dramatic surrounding landscape.

Colossi of Memnon - Enjoy a photo opportunity at the Two Colossi of Memnon, the impressive remnants of the funerary temple of King Amenhotep III. Afterward, drive approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to Esna to embark on your Dahabiya Nile Cruise.

Esna - Upon arrival, the crew will warmly welcome you on board and assist with transferring your luggage to your cabin. The Dahabiya will then set sail for El Hegz Island, where it will moor for the night. Relax and enjoy dinner on the sundeck or along the banks of the Nile. Overnight stay on board.

El Kab, Edfu, Besaw Island

Tombs of El Kab - Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as you sail to El Kab Necropolis (ancient Nekheb), the city of the goddess Nekhebet. This site is renowned for its rock-cut tombs of New Kingdom provincial officials, offering insight into the Eighteenth Dynasty and Egypt’s unification. Notable tombs include those of Sobeknakht II, who defended Thebes from Kushite invaders, as well as the tombs of Ahmose, son of Ibana, Pahari, and Setau.

Temple of Horus - Return to the Dahabiya and sail to Edfu, home to the well-preserved Temple of Edfu. Explore the temple via a horse-and-carriage ride, then enjoy lunch onboard. Continue sailing along the Nile, taking in the scenic riverside life and lush landscapes of sugarcane, banana, and date palms. Before sunset, anchor near Besaw Island for a memorable dinner in a charming setting.

Besaw Island, Gebel el-Silsila, Kom Ombo, Herdiab Island

Jabal as Silsilah - Wake up to explore the rich culture and traditions of the Egyptians and Nubians on Besaw Island, gaining insight into daily life, local crafts, and customs such as weddings, fishing, and education. Continue sailing to the ancient Pharaonic quarries of Silsela to visit the lesser-known rock-cut Temple of Hormoheb and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the mountaintop.

Temple of Kom Ombo - Afternoon & Evening: Sail to Kom Ombo, observing the daily life along the Nile—water buffalo, donkeys, and river birds. Visit the unique double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Haroeris (Horus the Elder) and Sobek (Crocodile God), featuring two symmetric entrances, halls, and sanctuaries. Return to the Dahabiya for dinner and overnight at Herdiab Island.

Day 4: Sailing to Aswan, Sightseeing Tours

Unfinished Obelisk - After breakfast, explore Aswan starting with the Unfinished Obelisk, showcasing ancient Egyptian stone-cutting techniques, possibly linked to Queen Hatshepsut or Queen Nefertiti.

Aswan High Dam - Continue to the High Dam, a modern engineering marvel safeguarding Egypt from Nile floods.

Temple of Philae - After the construction of the Aswan High Dam, the temple complex was relocated to nearby Agilika Island to protect it from rising waters. Visit the three main monuments—the Temple of Isis, the Temple of Hathor, and the Kiosk of Trajan—before enjoying free time onboard the Dahabiya Cruise.
