Luxor West Bank
Luxor Travels - Embark on a two-day tour to explore the key monuments on Luxor’s West and East Banks. Highlights include the Valley of the Kings (Necropolis of Thebes), the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, and the Karnak and Luxor Temples. Optional hot air balloon rides over the Valley of the Kings are available. A licensed Egyptologist will guide you, and you’ll travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle.
On the second day, you can opt for a hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings (additional cost and weather permitting).
Day 1:
In the morning, you’ll be picked up from Luxor airport or your hotel/port for a fully guided 6-hour tour. First, you’ll visit the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank, where you’ll explore three tombs from various dynasties. Your Egyptologist guide will recommend which tombs to visit. Next, you’ll visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman to reign as Pharaoh, followed by the Colossi of Memnon, the largest ancient statues in Egypt. After the tour, you’ll be transported back to your hotel.
Day 2:
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up for a 4-hour guided tour of Karnak on Luxor’s East Bank. Karnak is a complex of temples built over different reigns, featuring the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut, the Temple of Amon, and the Granite Scarab of Amenophis III. After Karnak, you’ll visit Luxor Temple, dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun-Ra, Mut, and Khonsu, where you’ll see the granite statues of Ramses the Great. Your guide will provide information at each site, and you’ll have free time to explore. After the tour, you’ll be taken back to your hotel.
Valley of the Kings - You’ll be picked up from your hotel or harbor in central Luxor for an 8-hour guided tour. First, you’ll visit the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank, where you’ll explore four royal tombs, including those of Ramses, Horemheb, and Merenptah.
Tomb of Ramses III - Known as KV 11, this tomb in the Valley of the Kings features colorful painted sunken reliefs and scenes of Ramses before the gods. Unique secular scenes include foreign tributes, royal armory, boats, and blind harpists, giving it the nickname ‘Tomb of the Harpers.’
Tomb of Ramses IX - Ramses IX, the third pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty, was the fifth son of Ramses III. His tomb is richly decorated, with vibrant colors and detailed scenes, including a ceiling depicting the goddess Nut.
Tomb of Merenptah - Located in the Valley of the Kings, this tomb was the burial place of Pharaoh Merenptah, son of Ramses II. Discovered by Howard Carter in 1903, it features a single-axis design and a wide entrance, with fewer lateral rooms and higher corridors.
Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut) - Optional entrance to the tomb of Tutankhamun (300.00 EGP). This young king ascended the throne at around 10 years old and died at 19. You’ll see his royal mummy in the Valley of the Kings.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - After visiting the tombs, you’ll be taken to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman to reign as Pharaoh and an ancestor of King Tutankhamun.
Colossi of Memnon - These two large ancient statues date back to the era of King Amenhotep III.

Tomb of Merenptah - Located on the West Bank of Luxor.

Tomb of Ramses IV - This tomb in the Valley of the Kings features vibrant blue and white colors, with scenes from various ancient texts and a rose-colored granite sarcophagus. The ceiling depicts the goddess Nut swallowing the sun.

Temple of Amun - Also known as Karnak Temples, this complex on Luxor’s East Bank is considered one of the world’s greatest architectural masterpieces. It features the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Tutomosis I, the Temple of Amon, the Granite Scarab of Amenophis III, and the Sacred Lake.
