- Valley of the Kings - A representative from Terre Des Pharaons will pick you up from your Luxor hotel to explore the West Bank. Begin your day at the Valley of the Kings, known for its magnificent burial architecture, where many pharaohs are interred. You will visit three tombs, excluding King Tutankhamun’s. Next, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, constructed by Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt for about 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (circa 1490-1469 B.C.), the only female pharaoh of ancient Egypt. Afterwards, you’ll be taken back to your Luxor hotel.
- Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut - Also known as Deir el-Bahari, this ancient Egyptian funerary temple is situated on the west bank of the Nile near Luxor. Built for Queen Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs, who reigned during the 15th century BCE (circa 1479-1458 BCE). The temple is celebrated as one of ancient Egypt’s most extraordinary architectural feats, designed by Senenmut.
- Colossi of Memnon - These two colossal stone statues are located on the west bank of the Nile near Luxor. They are the remnants of a larger mortuary temple complex built by Pharaoh Amenhotep III in the 14th century BCE (circa 1350-1334 BCE). The statues, each about 18 meters (60 feet) tall and weighing around 700 tons, depict Amenhotep III seated on his throne. Carved from single blocks of quartzite sandstone, they originally stood at the entrance of the pharaoh’s temple, symbolizing his divine power and authority.
