Very nice tour - Very pleasant tour of 2 wonderful monuments. Pont du Gard is an incredible structure, and Avignon is a very nice small city with a lot of character. The Papal Palace was very interesting. Best of all, we weren't directed to any shops for "sales demonstration", strictly sightseeing. Chris was a genial and pleasant guide and we enjoyed the day.

Great tour guide - A wonderful tour with our guide Romain. He picked us up at our hotel in Aix en Provence and gave us a very nice tour in Avignon and in the Popes Palace. We had lunch in a lovely restaurant in the center and then went to Pont du Gard. All the day was as expected and we didn't expect to have a guide with a perfect English and an incredible knowledge. We recommend Romain if you want to explore Provence.

Fantastic historic location - We really enjoyed our visit to the Palais des Papes. The iPad supplied with the admission ticket provides an interactive guide to each room or area that you visit. Great views of the city, river and Pont d Avignon from the top. Well worth a visit.

Dancing Recommended - Interesting historic remain with excellent views of Avignon and the Rhone. Site of the famous dance. Only goes 2/3rd of the way across the river.

Beautiful view of the Rhone and the city walls - If you are in Avignon you cannot miss the view of the Rhone from this bridge. With the access ticket (5 euros for adults, 4 euros for children under 26, but it costs less the cumulative ticket with the entrance to the palace of the Popes) is included an audio guide in all languages.

Cultural disappointment! - Unfortunately, for those who know history, the French Revolution wiped out many of France's historic places or left them to fend for themselves and then totally rebuilt. Among these is also Avignon the palace of the Popes. All fake, rebuilt at the end of 800. So glory to history and place but unfortunately there is nothing so interesting to see. Provence is the Côte d'Azur should be experienced only for the beauty of nature and the charm that in some places you still live. Marseille to burn to the ground!!! Horrible!!! All fuffa!!! Here, an average Italian would cry over the money spent to get here.
