Immersive family farm experience - Our visit the eco-farm was truly a highlight of our travels in Morocco. From the moment we arrived, Oumayma and her family welcomed us with genuine warmth and hospitality that made us feel like part of their household rather than tourists passing through.
The cooking experience was so much fun! We learned to prepare traditional Moroccan dishes, including tagine and lentils, using fresh, local ingredients. The techniques and recipes we learned have become treasured souvenirs—we still regularly make these dishes at home!
The farm itself is a beautiful oasis in the desert. The impressive olive orchard forms the heart of the property and various citrus trees surround the house. The farm animals, including chickens, added charm and authenticity to the experience.
Two spaces on the property stand out in our memory: the lovely roof terrace offering amazing views of the nearby mountains (perfect for enjoying sunsets), and the magnificent shady tree in the garden where we enjoyed most of our meals.
This experience provided us with genuine insight into Moroccan culture and traditions. Through everyday interactions, shared meals, and conversations with Oumayma and her mom, we gained a deeper understanding of local life that we will remember for years to come.
We highly recommend this cooking class for anyone seeking an authentic experience!

The highlight of our holiday! Really great!! - What a beautiful and unique experience 😍😃😃😃😃
Here you get to know Morocco from a completely different side, far away from the usual tourist hustle and bustle.
Oumayma and her mama will take you to a world you have certainly never experienced before. Tradition and nature are the focus here.
My daughters and I took them firmly into our hearts and laughed an incredible amount. We learned how to prepare a chicken tagine and other traditional Moroccan dishes in a lovingly furnished outdoor kitchen. After a break under a magnificent tree with beautiful birdsong, you will experience a special tea ceremony here.
Let yourself be surprised!
The three of us can definitely recommend this cooking event. We hope to come back to Morocco very soon. We will definitely visit Oumayma again. Five stars are far too few to give an appropriate rating.

• A Beautiful Day of Moroccan Cooking and Hospitality - We spent a wonderful day at Green Akal with Oumayma and her mother, learning how to cook a traditional tagine using local Moroccan spices. While our meal simmered away, we enjoyed a fascinating tour of their regenerative farm and learned about the sustainable practices they use to care for the land.
After the tour, we relaxed in the shade of a large fig tree and enjoyed our delicious, home-cooked lunch. The entire family was incredibly warm and welcoming, making sure we were well looked after throughout the day.
Visiting Green Akal was a true pleasure — an authentic, inspiring, and memorable experience.
Let me know if you’d like to make it more casual, more detailed, or add anything specific you loved!

Absolutely unforgettable day with Oumayma, an admirable young woman, as a wonderful hostess! - 5 evaluation points are not enough here - I would give more than 100 points if I could!:-)
Absolute recommendation - even with child. Our son (13 years) thought it was great... and that certainly not only because he could have a hotspot. ;-)
5 points for organization and contact in advance & 5 points for the cooking class.
And then... infinite points for the unforgettable atmosphere on this day!
Already in advance we could choose whether our tajine should be with beef, chicken, fish or vegetarian. We were picked up super punctual in the morning at our hotel in Agadir and brought back in the evening.
We guessed spices, freshly harvested coriander in the herb garden and used it to prepare our food outside in the lovingly built clay kitchen typical Moroccan. There were lentils, eggplant-tomato salad and a large tajine cooked on the red-hot coal. So delicious! (Recipes are also available.)
Happy and full ;-) we were able to take a rest under a shady tree. Oumayma also showed us her farm and the animals.
We learned a lot! Not only about cooking, but also about life and culture in Morocco. Oumayma's mother was the boss in the outdoor kitchen, her father performed a wonderful tea ceremony in the afternoon and we laughed a lot together!
It felt like we were part of this family for a day. As I write this, I want to go right back!!!
If you speak a bit of "vacation-ready" English for this experience, this should fit. Oumayma can now pronounce "Lecker" perfectly in German. ;-)

Amazing three weeks! - I visited the farm of Oumayma and her family for three weeks in the months of May and June '24. It was an exceptional stay where I got to learn lots about Moroccan culture, but also hands-on skills in working at an eco farm, gardening, mud construction and many other things. Oumayma is a lovely host, a warm, idealistic and creative person who started the special adventure at this farm with her family, who are very kind-hearted. Can recommend this place to all who want to learn new things and enjoy life at a Moroccan farm, I hope to be back one day for more joyful experiences.

A memorable experience - A great, unique experience that I'd recommend to anyone interested in moroccan culture and cuisine. Oumayma and her friendly were super hospitable and even offered to collect and drop off at our hotel in Agadir... which is way more cost effective than booking a taxi. We had a lovely intro and tour of the farm, before getting down to cooking 3 dishes in an outdoor kitchen. Cooking and eating outdoors with the family made the day feel really special and I look forward to visiting again one day!

The perfect travel experience in my life! - I think this is definitely the experience I miss most in Morocco. In the whole process of learning to make tagine, I not only harvested delicious food, but also learned a lot of cultural stories behind Moroccan food through this process. Oumayma and her mother were very enthusiastic, and during the whole process of making tagine, they explained to me the proportion of spices and production steps very carefully and in detail. Sharing food with friends in such a comfortable farm environment is really an unforgettable experience in this life! Their homemade Moroccan lemon ginger jam is really amazing and different from lemon jams in other places. I brought some back from Morocco for my European and Asian friends. After tasting it, everyone will want to go to Green Akal next time they go to Morocco. Such a perfect food making experience, perfect Moroccan food memory, and perfect Moroccan sunset are really the best travel memories.
