The journey continues to the scenic viewpoints of Ponta do Rosto and Portela. Delight in a freshly prepared meal at a family-run restaurant in Santana, known for its iconic triangular houses resembling gingerbread homes. Gonçalo notes, ‘These distinctive houses are exclusive to Santana. Constructed from stone with thatched roofs, which are renewed every three years, they nearly touch the ground. Mostly built in the 16th century, their attics were used for seed storage.’
In the afternoon, immerse yourself in nature at Ribeiro Frio Natural Park, where you can stroll along a section of the Levada dos Balcões.
