Mount Nebo - Mount Nebo is a high ridge in Jordan, standing about 700 meters above sea level. As part of the Abarim mountain range, it is biblically noted as the site where Moses was shown the Promised Land before his death. From its peak, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the West Bank across the Jordan River valley. On clear days, the cities of Jericho and Jerusalem are visible from the summit.

Like Petra, it is a Nabataean site with structures carved into sandstone canyon walls. As its name implies, it is smaller, consisting of three wider open areas connected by a 450-meter (1,480 ft) canyon. It is part of the Petra Archaeological Park, though accessed separately, and included in Petra’s UNESCO World Heritage Site designation. It is often visited alongside Petra, as it is free and typically less crowded.
