Madaba - Traveling south from Amman along the ancient King’s Highway, which is over 5000 years old, offers one of the most unforgettable experiences in the Holy Land, passing through numerous historic sites. The first city encountered is Madaba, known as “The City of Mosaics.”
Madaba is a typical East Bank town with a unique feature: beneath almost every house lies a beautiful Byzantine mosaic. Many of these mosaics have been unearthed and are displayed in the town’s museum, but it is believed that many more remain hidden, waiting to be discovered.
Mount Nebo - Travel along the same path that the prophet Moses (pbuh) was forbidden to take by the King of Edom (Numbers 20), and imagine standing where Moses was laid to rest, and where the late Pope John Paul II walked during his first pilgrimage of the millennium.
Visit the Sanctuary at Nebo: the memorial of Moses (pbuh), the presumed site of his death and burial, and a pilgrimage center since early Christian times. The biblical atmosphere will inspire you from start to finish as you embark on this divine tour.
Shobak Castle - Located just off the King’s Highway, 190 km south of Amman and less than an hour north of Petra, stands an impressive castle, a solitary reminder of the Crusader era, dating back to the same turbulent period as Kerak. It crowns a cone of rock rising above a wild and rugged landscape, surrounded by a grand sweep of fruit trees below.
Today, it is known as Shobak, but to the Crusaders, it was Mont Real (Crak de Montreal) or Mons Regalis, the Fortress of the Royal Mount. Built in 1115 by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem to guard the road from Damascus to Egypt, it was the first of a series of similar strongholds in the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem.
The painted house - Little Petra - Al Beidha (Little Petra)
Al Beidha is an ancient archaeological site located a few kilometers north of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Petra. Al Beidha is also known as Little Petra due to its architectural similarities. Unlike Petra, Al Beidha (Little Petra) attracts far fewer tourists, offering a more peaceful atmosphere compared to other popular landmarks in Jordan. It is well connected to the nearby town of Wadi Musa, and visitors should allocate around half a day to explore Little Petra.

Petra -
Petra is a treasure of the ancient world, hidden behind an almost impenetrable barrier of rugged mountains, offering incomparable scenes that make it the most majestic and imposing ancient site still standing today. It has been said, “perhaps there is nothing in the world that resembles it,” and indeed, there is nothing in the world that resembles it. The rock-carved rose-red city of Petra is full of mysterious charm, “designed to strike wonder into all who entered it.”
Petra is considered the most famous and stunning site in Jordan, located about 262 km south of Amman and 133 km north of Aqaba. It is the legacy of the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2000 years ago. Admired then for its refined culture, massive architecture, and ingenious complex of dams and water channels, Petra is now a UNESCO World Heritage site that captivates visitors from all over the globe.
Wadi Rum - A journey to Wadi Rum is a journey to another world. A vast, silent place, timeless and starkly beautiful. Wadi Rum is one of Jordan’s main tourist attractions, being the most stunning desertscape in the world, located 320 km southwest of Amman, 120 km south of Petra, and only 68 km north of Aqaba.
Uniquely shaped massive mountains rise vertically out of the pink desert sand, separating one dark mass from another in a magnificent desert scenery of strange breathtaking beauty, with towering cliffs of weathered stone. The faces of the sheer rock cliffs have been eroded by the wind into faces of men, animals, and monsters.
Wadi Rum To Dead Sea Back To Amman
Dead Sea Region - Deep in the Jordan Valley and 55 km southeast of Amman, lies the Dead Sea, one of the most spectacular natural and spiritual landscapes in the world. It is the lowest body of water on earth, the lowest point on earth, and the world’s richest source of natural salts, hiding wonderful treasures accumulated over thousands of years.
To reach this unique spot, visitors enjoy a short 30-minute drive from Amman, surrounded by a landscape and arid hills that seem to belong to another planet. Along the way, a stone marker indicates “Sea Level,” but the Dead Sea itself is not reached until descending another 400 meters below this sign.

Jordan, a youthful nation rich in history, is abundant with natural marvels and historical landmarks, serving as a well-trodden link between sea and desert, east and west. Located just east of the River Jordan, it remains a connection between ancient and modern civilizations, acting as an open-air museum almost in its entirety. Jordan is a destination for every season. In winter, it provides therapeutic experiences at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, where “floating” rather than “swimming” becomes a unique adventure in its highly saline and mineral-rich waters.
