Price includes Wine tasting - Cabo Girao - After the madeira vineyard Tour, we continue up to the worlds second highest sea cliff and Europe’s highest (580m) – (1775 ft). Here you can enjoy the beautiful views of Camara de Lobos and Funchal. Due to sea erosion, caves and terraces were formed along the coastline. The locals made little plots, for crops, forming an incredible watercolour landscape.. - Camara De Lobos - Madeira Wine Tour, Vineyard Tour - the last stop is a small fishing village, “Câmara de Lobos”,which is located west of Funchal where the port is a small creek, with a beach and a harbour and with the houses heaped up around the bay. It was named by João Gonçalves Zarco due to thousands of monk seals living in the bay. In 1949 Winston Churchill chose this place to paint its picturesque surroundings. Poncha is a locale drink made of honey, lemon and sugarcane rum, available in the local taverns

Susana is the best - Susana was the nicest and very personable. She arrived on time to pick us up and was a great driver. She gave us a lot of info about the island and gave us tips on where to explore. Would recommend!

Great afternoon out - Susannah picked us up at our hotel on time and we drove straight out to the winery. The route was a little windy and the last bit was very bumpy but Susannah coped with all the conditions very well. She was very informative and we learned a lot about the island as she drove. The winery itself was in beautiful countryside. The tour was very well organised. We tried six wines (very little food provided with which to try it and the actual tasting was a little rushed as there was a big party coming in after us). We we’re offered another full glass of any of the 6 wines after, too. After this we went onto the glass bridge and then onto a little fishing village where Churchill apparently painted. The stops here were very brief which suited us. We were home by 6:20 pm after starting out at 2.pm. Good value, interesting tour.

Highly recommended - It was a very rainy, windy day so we were very glad not be outside that day. We were taken to several places of interest along the way and then on to Quinto Barbusano. The lady who described and explained about the wines was excellent and very knowledgeable, answering all our questions. We were able to do a short walk around the vineyard when there was a break in the weather. This too was excellent, obviously all the staff are very passionate about their work. We sampled 5 varieties of wine, all extremely good, and the snacks complimented each wine very well. The opened bottles were left on the table so we were able to have another tasting afterwards. We bought 3 bottles but there is absolutely no pressure to do so. Highly recommended half day, well worth the cost.

A trip to experience Madeira. - It is a tough track to the vineyard but was enjoyable when we got there. The visits to the sky area & small port were worthwhile.

Great time, but missed a stop - The winery was beautiful, but note that on Madeira the "wineries" only grow the grapes. They all send them to a central facility to be pressed, fermented and bottled, so there are no wine making operations to see. Tasted 6 wines with cheese, toasts, and cured meats, and were invited to spend as much time as we wanted after the tasting to sit, pour another glass of any we tasted and enjoy the scenery. We didn't have any control over the pacing of the winery tour.
After the last tasting was poured and we got back in the van it, was about 25 minutes later than the driver originally recommended. We got to Cabo Girao which was fortunately not crowded, spent 15-20 minutes checking out the views and glass floor over the cliff. Got back to the van ready to see the last planned stop at Cabo da Roca, but the driver announced "time is up" and brought us back to our hotels. I understand they probably have timing issues if there are later tours to be accommodated, but they really should have made sure the guide at the winery knew our schedule. Better yet, if you are considering this tour, consider doing a winery tour separately from other sight seeing tours. The wineries are all located in very remote areas up very winding roads, and should be enjoyed thoroughly and un-rushed. Many offer a full day with lunch.
Also note that there is a difference between "Madeira wine" and "wine made in Madeira". This winery produces regular table wine, not fortified Madeira, so whatever you book, make sure it's the wine and winery type you're specifically interested in.

Long drive from Dreams Resort - Travel time from Dreams Resort took over 1-3/4 hours to winery which included pickup of another 2 people on the way. The winery tour itself was good, but nothing exceptional.

Disappointing - I was really looking forward to this, however, we were left disappointed. The wine tour itself was good and informative at the vineyard, however, it was advertised as having tapas as part of the wine tasting. The tapas (between 4 people) consisted of 6 slices of cheese and chorizo, dried toast, jam - that’s not my idea of tapas. After the wine tasting there was about 30 minutes left to try the wines on our own so we managed 2 small glasses and then had to leave - not worth over £60 per person.
