The Lázaro Galdiano Museum stands as a testament to José Lázaro Galdiano’s bequest to the Spanish State. This museum, one of the few remaining mansion and garden ensembles in Madrid, showcases over 3,000 artworks (selected from a collection of 12,600) across four floors of what was once the private home of José Lázaro Galdiano and his wife, Paula Florido. The motto “a collection of collections” highlights the Museum’s diverse array of collections, featuring an outstanding art gallery with masterpieces by Goya, Zurbarán, Carreño, El Greco, Cranach, Constable, and Bosch. This is further enriched by sculptures, weapons, ceramics, ivories, numismatics, jewelry, textiles, and miniatures, among other varied collections.
