MUST DO! Paublo and Leza... - MUST DO! Paublo and Leza were fun and made certain everyone was engaging in the experience. We made the best Sangria I’ve ever tasted; and better than any I’ve had in restaurants in Madrid. Oh, and the three types of Paella were fabulous. There were plenty of food and drink for everyone.

A great evening to cap off a long trip. - This turned out to be a final highlight of our 4 week trip through Spain. We were getting a little worn down by 3 days of rain and wanted to end with a bang booking the experience rather last minute. We walked from our hotel on the Gran Via to an office/apartment building and up to a little office suite on the 2nd floor at 7:30p. There we were met by the Spanish chef and his translating sous chef. We were joining a group of about 14 people from the US and England of multiple generations. After everyone washed their hands, the evening commenced. We started with a lesson in genuine red and white Sangria. We then moved on to the introduction to Paella history, ingredients which featured important dos and don’t. We had one person who was allergic to shellfish so that gave them the opportunity to do both meat and seafood versions. The sangria flowed and the group jelled as we all got to know one another. Then the real hands-on work began cutting and preparing. During this time two separate tapas were brought out, a potato/onion/egg torta and jamon/tomato toasts. They brought out the specific paella cooking machinery and the cooking began. The food was ready in about 30 minutes and we moved into to dining area where we enjoyed plenty of delicious paella. We finished off the evening with several different liqueurs and they had to shoo us all off at 11p so that they could clean up. Definitely worth the money and time.

Disappointed.... - Disappointed. We expected an actual workshop where we would be cooking however it was just watching a chef (who was very knowledgeable) cook a paella. We thought we would be able to cook our own paella following a chef’s recipe, but this is NOT what happened. Poor advertising.
