Highlights
  • Plaza De Zocodover - Before it was an Arab market and until a few years ago there was a street market called “popularly” on Tuesday, it was Enrique IV who granted Toledo a market every Tuesday, a tradition that comes from far away and is currently held in the Parque de la Vega. Zocodover comes from Arabic, it means market of the beasts, and this square was also used to publicly execute the condemned.

Loved Arantxa - Good day trip to Toledo. Comfortable bus ride and good walking tour of the old city. Good mix of guided tour and time on your own. Highly recommend our guide, Arantxa. She was wonderful and provided good recommendations for our stay in Madrid!

Transforming Time in Toledo - Fun and Tickets did an awesome job with organizing the 1/2 day tour to Toledo. Our guide, Aranancia, was knowledgeable, kind and patient with our group. She gave the history of the buildings and the objects and artwork inside each site.

Great city, overall good experience but wanted more history. - Toledo is definitely a great day trip from Madrid, but for me there were pros and cons to the overall experience. I loved the old city charm and thought overall it was very beautiful. The views from Saint Martin bridge and the cathedral as well as the quaint streets were really beautiful. Overall the tour went smoothly, running on time (I loved that this wasn’t a super long 12 hour tour like some day trips stretch to), the bus was comfortable, our tour guide was nice and clear able meeting points and times. I had two critiques of the tour. First, while I have been in business tours where for the bus portion the langauges are mixed, I have never been on one where the walking tour in the city was mixed language. Even the other day tour I did through the same company split us in Segovia and Avila into separate Spanish and English speaking groups. This both meant she had half as much time to give information in each language and I personally had trouble realizing I needed to zone back in when she switched back to English. I didn’t feel like I absorbed as much history because of this. Related to this, I felt the tour of the Jewish quarter lacked a lot of information and I would have liked to have learned more about that part of Toledo's history. I enjoyed my day but my constructive criticism tot he your company would be to have a single language per group at least while in the city.

Holy Toledo - As the first capital of Spain, Toledo is worth the visit. It is a beautiful city on a hill overlooking a river. We did not lean much about the city from the tour guide. Most of her focus was on the Cathedral, St Tome. Unfortunately, the quality of the earplugs communication between the guide and us was very poor which made it difficult to hear and understand.

Short on content, difficult to understand - Our guide was friendly and energetic but…. Native Spanish speakers tend to speak rapidly and enthusiastically so that when the accent is very thick it is very difficult to understand what is being said. And if the audio equipment is less than top grade even more so. We searched for an English guide book to get some sense of what we were looking at. A Spanish guide who speaks English clearly and distinctly is the exception.

Guide was good and the... - Guide was good and the tour was well organized. However listening to everything in two languages becomes tedious when you are standing in hot and crowded locations

Disappointing tour - Booked a English speaking tour for a “Half Day” However the tour was in both English and Spanish which meant long wait between translations Also the tour was a full day 9-5pm which was very disappointing

A strong No - the tour is not in English - We booked this tour expecting it to be in English, but the majority of it — about 80% — was conducted in Spanish. This made it very difficult to follow, and there was no opportunity to ask questions or get clarification. It felt disorganized and not as advertised. Unfortunately, we can’t recommend this tour for English-speaking guests.
