Meaningful tour in Minakshi temple - We had an excellent experience on our guided tour of the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. The explanations were detailed, intresting, and delivered with great respect for Tamil Nadu and its unique heritage. We especially appreciated the focus on Tamil culture and history, which was presented as a rich and distinct tradition. The perspective gave us a much deeper understanding of the essence of Tamil identity.
At the temple, every story, detail, and location was explained with clarity and depth. It was clear that the knowledge shared came from true professionalism and passion for the subject. The tour not only helped us appreciate the temple itself, but also connected us to the cultural spirit of Tamil Nadu. Overall, it was a truly memorable and meaningful experience

Great English and vast knowledge - Dhanabalan knows English very well, his knowledge on the culture is vast and he pass it on a very exciting way, it's clear he does what he loves the most.
He also have many amazing recommendations for things to do in the area of Madurai.

Best cultural tour you'll find in Madurai - This was probably the best tour I have been on. Dhanabalan is a wealth of knowledge and really takes time to make sure you understand. There was never pressure to buy anything which often happens on tours, and he made me feel like he was completely dedicated to our time together. If you want a first class experience where you see and learn a lot, then this is the tour for you.

An unexpected morning - An unexpected morning. We knew that Madurai was beautiful from the stories of friends who had already visited. The disappointment of seeing the beautiful temples wrapped in scaffolding for renovation was tough. Luckily we decided to take a local guide to make a nice visit anyway and found that besides the monumental outer temples there is much more! A morning spent between sacred places and local markets. Showing us glimpses of cities not found by the simple tourist. We had a very good time our guide had an eye for us and in the end it seemed to visit the city with a friend. Recommended really from the heart.

Enlightening Experience - Words can’t describe how impressed my partner and I were with our tour with Dhanabalan! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about the temple, the Tamil folklore and history, his knowledge is accompanied by depth and passion. Dhanabalan is not your basic, typical guide. His intelligence and love for his culture makes the tour unique. We did this tour at the end of our stay in Madurai and it made our view of the city much much richer. So, I really recommend that this tour is the first thing someone does in Madurai!

EVENING CEREMONY TOUR OF MEENAKSHI TEMPLE - We booked the Evening Ceremony Tour of Meenakshi Temple with Dhanabalan and it was truly beautiful. We learned a lot from Dhanabalan and we fully recommend him. This tour was an experience we will never forget.

Amazing experience! Would recommend it to everyone who travels India. - The tour was amazing. Our tour guide Dhanabalan explained so much about the temple, the history of India and also about the Indian culture and religion. We’ve learned a lot and it was so interesting. The temple is absolutely worth visiting, but without our tour guide we wouldn’t have been able to understand its meaning. He showed us so many details. We asked a lot of questions and he answered all of them. He was so kind and even sent us pictures of the temple afterwards (you have to leave your phone at the entrance). One of the best experiences on our journey in India so far! Thank you!

Excellent service by Balal - I got reference from Trip advisor and called Bala from Guided temple tours. It went very smoothly. We trusted and followed him completely. He is the most honest and genuine person we came across who ensured we got very good Darshan and could take part in the Abhishek ceremony at Meenakshi Temple. He is also very knowledgeable and took us through the culture, history and traditions too.
Bala helped us beyond the scope of his work too since we were very unsure whether to go for the Karaidi trip. The hotel staff were confusing us and saying it would turn out very boring. He suggested a flawless and workable itenary as per our needs which we followed and were very grateful for. Also the lunch at The Bangala on banana leaf was very good recommendation by him.
Since the current Meenakshi temple is under restoration I was a bit disappointed as I pictured the beautiful colourful exteriors of the temple, Bala suggested we visit the koodal azhagar temple in Madurai which was very beautiful, colourful clean u crowded and satisfied my wish , apart from the spiritual significance.
Thank you Bala for being a good soul and guiding us so well. You made our Madurai trip very worthwhile!

Very Good - It was easy to book the ticket on-line. The tour was personal tour for me. Mr Johnson wrote to me that he will be at the north gate at 9:15 am. I had finished my breakfast about 10 minutes earlier. So I asked the hotel to take me at the north gate at 8:30 am. When I arrived at the gate Mr Johnson was there. I was pleased that my tour stared earlier. I did not want to book the tour of 9am because I was not sure whether I will be able to reach there by 9 am.
Mr Johnson is very knowledgeable about the temple. I wished the temple allowed me to take photos.
