Beautiful ruins! - I loved the archeological site!!! It was beautiful!! The trip to the ruins was lengthy but you get to see the way of living of the locals. One thing that was highly unpleasant was the white European Americans talking senseless things about the locals way of living as if their hometowns (in the middle of nowhere texas) were any better … so if you have racist family members and you want to take them outside their (dumphole) hometown, just don’t !!! Traveling is for those who love and respect other countries!! And im referencing my visit back in January 13, 2026!

AMAZING ; READ THIS REVIEW ASAP - BOOK BOOK BOOK! Skip the cruise excursion and do this because it’s WAY cheaper and the experience is incredibly authentic. Everybody was punctual, no hiccups. My tour guide Carlos is a mf legend! Me and my girlfriend loved talking and interacting with him and learned so much about Mayan culture. No Mames 😭. Offered fresh water, supported local business by taking us to get mangoes and pineapples on the ride back. Please please TIP these people they work very hard and deserve every ounce of support. Would highly recommend and I can’t wait to book another trip with Toucan Tours. 10/10 fr S/O our driver Luis and our other tour guide Paul as well! 🩷 - Desde RD 🇩🇴, con amor, Patrick.

A Must See - I didn’t love that it was an hour drive, but it was so worth it! My family really loved it and learned a lot. I felt the price was good. It was just enough time.

Great Experience! - We had a great time on the Mayan Ruins tour. It was very easy to find the van at the cruise port that took us to the Tucan Tours office. After that, we got on a charter bus that took us on the ~45 minute ride out to the ruins. The bus was comfortable and air conditioned. Our tour guide, Eliseo Estrada was very friendly and gave us a lot of good information on the ride. Once we got there, there were bathrooms you can stop at before going on the walking tour. There were multiple other tour groups at the ruins, but the crowd was well managed, so there were never too many people at one particular site. At each site, Eliseo spent a few minutes explaining what we were looking at, and then there was a few minutes to walk around before we met back up with him. You may want to consider wearing sandals or hiking boots, as the area around the ruins can be muddy if it has been raining. After we were done at the ruins, we opted to go to the beach. Tucan Tours took us to a beach club that had a section of beach with lots of chairs and a restaurant with a nice patio. When we got there, our tour guide made sure to show us where to meet and what time. We were at the beach club for about 90 minutes. There was some seaweed at the beach, so my wife and I decided to eat lunch on the patio. Lunch was not included in the price, but the food at the beach club was good, not expensive, and they take credit cards. At the end, we got back on the bus, which took us directly to the cruise port. We'd recommend this tour for couples and families.

Beautiful Jungle, Amazing Ruins and Very Educational - We took this tour purchased through our cruise ship NCL Escape. It was a 4 hour tour, 1 hour drive each way and 2 hours in the jungle. Our tour guide Daniel was very pleasant and provided an educational narration the entire time we drove. He was a wealth of knowledge. The ruins were fantastic with one set that visitors were allowed to climb. If you choose to do so be careful. It's not as easy as it looks. The vegetation throughout the jungle was really beautiful. Insect repellent is recommended.
