The monsoon winds brought treasures from the Moluccas Spice Islands, creating a unique blend of global influences and flavors found nowhere else on Earth.
Our tasting tour, featuring over 15 samples, offers guests a culinary adventure led by our expert foodie guides.
Before we begin, please note that our tour reflects local cuisine, and due to the nature of street food vendors, we cannot accommodate all dietary restrictions. Here’s an honest overview to ensure everyone is informed:
✖️ Not suitable for vegetarians, as there are 3-4 fewer tastings due to limited alternatives at some vendors.
✖️ Not suitable for those with severe allergies, halal, or celiac diets, due to potential traces and cross-contamination.

- Malacca - Malacca was a place where fortunes were made and empires fell over a handful of cloves and nutmeg. Today, that history is alive not just in museums but in the city’s backstreet kitchens.
We start opposite the stilted timber houses of Jalan Kampung Morten, kicking off with a roti john—a local omelette sandwich born of street-side creativity. Alongside is the legendary asam pedas; this sour-spicy tamarind fish stew embodies Malacca: sharp and deep red from the chilies that arrived when the Spice Route met the Silk Road.
- Malacca - At the Mamak eateries of the Indian-Muslim community, experience the rhythmic clatter of teh tarik pulled tea, served with mutton soup and roti canai—the flakiest, most addictive flatbread. We then follow the scent of charcoal to a renowned spot for claypot chicken rice, where the rice at the bottom is perfectly scorched, paired with the vibrant, fruity chaos of rojak buah.
We’ll visit a Chinese kitchen to watch ham chim peng bean buns frying in a giant wok of oil, before arriving at a long-standing seafood eatery. Here, the main event includes lala clams in a gingery broth, salt and pepper prawns, smoky otak-otak (fish cake steamed in coconut leaves), and chicken satay skewers kissed by the flames.
- Malacca River Walk - We’ll pass the towering Church of St. Francis Xavier and the weathered stones of Bastion Victoria, remnants of the colonial era. We’ll pause for a cold drink before strolling along the beautiful UNESCO Riverside.
- Malacca - Enjoy Portuguese-style grilled fish, paired with crusty pão benggali, a direct link to the Eurasian families who have called this coast home for 500 years.
The finale is a refreshing dive into a bowl of cendol—a mountain of shaved ice and green jelly drenched in smoky gula melaka palm sugar.

We conclude where it all began: the Dutch Red Square, under the terracotta glow of the Stadthuys. Between bites, this is the ultimate way to explore the city through its cuisine. We don’t do small portions; we do deep flavors. Come hungry!
