Fantastic Experience! Ellie is a star! - Had an amazing time from start to finish, great activities and attractions. The staff couldn’t do enough, but a special thanks to Ellie on the shadow drawing section, my son really wanted to draw an outline of the shirt as it was his favourite team, and she didn’t hesitate to hold it up so he could do so! Would recommend and an extra special thank you to her!

If you love football… - If you love your football, you’ll love this museum! So much for adults and kids alike. Browse through the complete history of football, take penalties, indulge in football activities, even design your own football magazine. Spend hours absorbed in trophies, trivia, winners, losers and everything related to the beautiful game. Would recommend.

Great morning at the meseum - Good morning with the kids, interesting exhibits they particularly liked play zone areas and having a go. Great little shop and cafe at the end and they loved riding the horizontal lift xx enjoyed the football roundabout small park at the front and nice outside grass sitting area. Fab you get a whole year use out of your tickets and carers can go in free with kids with disability’s.

Well worth a visit! - Excellent exhibits with plenty of skills practice for our budding footballer. Helpful knowledgable staff. Many of the exhibits will be of more interest to older people rather than children but still a great way to pass an afternoon.

Glad we visited, but unlikely to return - We visited during half term with our 11 year old who is football mad. They had a table with craft activities, but certainly aimed at the younger children. There were football related games for children to get involved in, which is particularly enjoyed. My son felt that it was predominantly aimed at adults or very young children. Maybe too much history involved for his liking. Although great to see that our home town team got a mention there. The giftshop and café at the end was a little disappointing. You get to return during the next 12 months but this wasn't something we would do again in 12 months due to not living near Manchester. Not sure we would hurry back. Bonus was that I used my Blue Light card to get discount on the entry price too.

Nice mix of exhibits, kept the kids entertained for a couple of hours - Figured this would be a good place to kill some time with the kids (15 and 11), and was proven correct. The exhibits weren’t “too much history” to lose their attention, and have actually led to us looking at things like football tragedies and hooliganism following our visit - thought provoking for them. Obviously the play floor had most of the time allocated to it! Nice bonus, kids from NYO were playing in the foyer, partly to advertise their evening concert, but as musicians ourselves, was lovely to see a mixing of arts I was surprised by the small focus on the future of the game, or more specifically the current trend for console games and trading cards (which is all my 11 yr old talks about). However it was nice that the focus was very much not on the big Manchester clubs, their success over the last 20 years could have led to that. Some of the boards need updating. And the price surprised me for a national museum, clearly not getting enough funding from government… Great afternoon though

Great, but not a lot for young kids. - If you’re a big fan of football, you will find this fascinating. There are loads of great facts and history of the world of football. Certain players get a special mention, and certain events get a mention. Great bits of memorabilia, interesting videos. Everything is well spaced out, it’s clean and tidy and staff are on hand more than happy to answer questions. There isn’t a lot for young children. While it’s brilliant to read the descriptions of things on show, it doesn’t always grab their attention. There is a level where you can take penalties (expect a wait for this) and practice different skills, but sadly you have to pay extra for all this, and while it isn’t overly expensive, it does add up. Personally, I think it would work better if you had a band or card on entry and staff mark to say you’ve had a turn and it’s all in with the entry price. The penalty shoot out was a half hour queue, and other bits where you can test your reactions on the ball or jump to see if you could get your fingertips to the top was ruled by kids not taking their turn, as no staff managed this and the kids have just had to go through levels of facts that probably didn’t grab their attention. The top floor was dedicated to Football Annuals…. While interesting, I’m not sure it needed a whole level. Overall, to a football nut, it’s brilliant, I just don’t think suitable for young kids.

Thanks Alex - Went to the museum in Thursday and had a great day. The Scots guy, Alex, was so knowledgeable and funny. Will be coming back with my nephew, hopefully Alex will be there again.

More of expected - Personally, we didn't like this. We were very disappointed. We expected more of it and were through within 50 minutes. Whole museum was full of children and way too busy.
