Very nice place. The cats seem well taken care of.

This was my first time at this cat cafe and I’ve been following yall on IG since you opened and I’ve always wanted to go. I finally got around to it and paid over $60 for me and my 3 friends to go. I was definitely underwhelmed and a little disappointed with the experience. I definitely didn’t expect so many kids to be there. They were really overwhelming for not only us but the cats. I felt like everytime we got a chance to pet a cat a child would jump in and take over and thus the cat would run away. I felt like the cats were trying to get peace from the kids and I didn’t even want to bother them at that point. I really think yall should rethink the age requirements and maybe have kid free days/times. I know the cats seemed tired but none of them seemed like the social type with people or the other cats. The space was very very small and felt more like a kids play room rather than a space for cats. The only cat that seemed affectionate was in the cage. I know shelters are full of social cats that need to be in places like a cat cafe. It seems like the space needs to be bigger and you need to work with more shelters that have an influx of social cats. I went to several cat cafes in Kansas City and they were amazing. They were a lot bigger and had a lot more cats and didn’t allow kids that young. the cats have more space and they were able to warm up to the environment with new people every day and it worked a lot better. I love the concept and I’m glad stl is getting in on it but Mauhaus was really disappointing. It was not worth the price. I felt like I was intruding on a kids party and myself and the cats were cranky. I thought the entire point was to relax with cats and be in peace but it was the opposite. The staff was very friendly but that was about it.
