The first stop is Moray, an agricultural laboratory where visitors can admire the circular Andean terraces carved deep into the earth, resembling a bowl. These terraces were historically used to adapt crops to various climates.
Following the visit to Moray, the tour proceeds to “Salineras” or “salt of Maras.” This town, known as a salt production center, is believed to date back to pre-Inca times. Here, over 3,500 salt beds are strategically carved into the mountainside and filled by water channels.
On the return journey to Cusco, the tour passes through the charming village of “Chinchero,” known as the cradle of the rainbow. This town is notable for preserving traditional Andean textile techniques.
