- we had a lovely tasting in a beautiful setting and the wines are quite nice.
We took the Cheese platter which at 70AUD was a rather small portion for the price , but we understand that a lot of if is local produce. The cheeses were excellent. I would suggest having a snack before coming here for the wine tasting.

Our New Favourite - We stopped at Cape Mentelle to kill a bit of time before checking in to our accommodation. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a warm, friendly sommelier who escorted us to the barrel hall for a wine tasting.
Customers are given an iPad to browse the wines available and read a detailed overview of them, before making a selection of 6 different tasters for $15 pp. We picked our 6 (all fantastic!) and the sommelier even threw in their flagship 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon to try as well. Our favourites were the Chardonnay and the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon, so we bought a couple of bottles to take home.
Fantastic wines, a beautiful, relaxed space, and highly professional and knowledgeable staff. We'd definitely recommend this winery over others.

Absolutely fantastic - Danny was absolutely excellent and delivered an amazing experience - we aren’t used to these sorts of experiences where it is just the two of us and it was brilliant; Danny took his time to take us through the wines, showed us how to decipher some of the tastes and gave us a full explanation of Cape Mentelle.
Thank you - this was a great part of our honeymoon trip!

The best wines and most informative host. - 4 of us had a private wine tasting which was very informative. The wines were the best that we tried out of 4 wineries we toured and sampled as was the knowledge of our hostess. After our tasting we shown around some of the vats and barrel storage area. Finished off with a glass of our favorite wine and cheese and nibbles platter. A lovely experience.

Amazing - What an amazing experience! Our guide Julie, was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. It was so great to learn about the winery, it’s history and of course the wine itself. Definitely recommend a private wine tasting. Thank you

Private Wine Tasting in Cellar / Barrel room - We did the Private Wine Tasting in the Cellar room which whilst more expensive was a great experience. Being seated and having someone go through the wine tasting with you one by one (although they didn’t drink obviously) was a new experience for us (and we visit wineries a lot). We had Kate I believe who was very generous with her time answering our questions. It felt like a special / unique experience. We became members, shipping wine back to NSW!

Nice grounds and expensive wines tasting! - The surrounding area around the winery was just stunning! The grounds were well maintained and beautiful!
The wine tasting was a little expensive ($10/person for only 4 wines) and the service was not the best! The French guy was too busy with too many guest that he took too long to come to us. Maybe we were not big spending customers but would have been nice to get a bit better service.

i-Wine tasting - Fair to say that I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Cape Mentelle experience.
It was pretty busy and I found it to be impersonal compared to other vineyards.
The staff were friendly and clearing trying their best but it’s hard to be attentive going between numerous groups. Also, the use of an iPad for tasting notes rather than getting a rundown from staff also takes away from the experience.
Each to their own but not for me.
