- The Temple of Artemis - The Temple of Artemis, or Artemision, was an ancient Greek temple dedicated to the goddess Artemis in Ephesus, near present-day Selçuk, Turkey. As one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, it was famous for its vast size and grandeur, with 127 columns adorned with intricate artwork. It was a center of worship and a symbol of the city’s wealth and prestige. Built and rebuilt several times, the most renowned version was constructed around 550 BCE. Although destroyed by arson in 356 BCE, it was later rebuilt. Today, only a few ruins remain, but its historical significance and status as one of the Seven Wonders continue to inspire awe worldwide.
