Vacation of a lifetime - Working with Desert Trips was one of the best decisions we made for our vacation. We always felt heard, understood, and supported throughout the entire planning process. It truly was a dream trip come true. Even being back home for a few days now, I’m still constantly thinking about how fun and unique this experience was. Morocco isn’t easy to navigate, and Med and their whole team expertly guided and educated us on the special history, culture, food, traditions, and sites of this beautiful country. Prior to the trip, Med was super helpful in their suggestions of what sites and experiences were must haves. We wouldn't have known where to start. We spent a day in Marrakech, which was our first stop, and had both day and night tours of the medina quarter (old city). It was immersive and interesting, almost an assault on the senses, all super cool experiences. We learned about the different cultural influences through the centuries, and our guide was truly an expert in their historical and local knowledge. The street food night tour was an evening to remember, sampling all sorts of local foods at places that would be impossible to find anywhere else. After our day in Marrakech, we traveled around Morocco for 10 days, passing through the high Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate, Skoura Oasis, Merzouga and the Sahara, then spent 2 nights in Fes, another cultural gem. Finally, Chefchaouen and Morocco's economic capital, Casablanca. It was an unforgettable journey, filled with highlights: The hotel Palm in Dades was beautiful, so well appointed with such friendly staff and owners, and perfect food. Very posh! The Sahara desert was unbelievable and my personal highlight. I still can’t believe it. A 1-hour camel riding tour (they were friendly!), stopped to watch a beautiful sunset and the whole scene and sand flowing on the dunes reminded me of the Dune movies, and then the moon literally rose on the opposite horizon as the sun was setting. It was magic. Then another 15 minutes on the camels under moonlight to our luxury camp. I say “camp” but the small restaurant was deluxe and our tent was warm, luxurious and of course had a full regular bathroom and air conditioner. So not exactly “camping”!! Fes was super interesting and our local guide ensured we saw so much of what makes Fes the cultural capital. Our riad there (and Marrakesh) was absolutely beautiful, capturing the unique art style, detail, and architecture that they are famous for. We've never stayed in places like this. We had a private driver throughout, in addition to local guides, which took any stress out of the trip and all logistics. Amazing! Every recommendation was spot on, and the whole experience far exceeded our expectations. We’re so grateful for their help! I cannot recommend Desert Trips more for your luxury travel dreams!

Excellent vacation - Our 10 day trip to Morocco was awesome. Their very detailed itinerary worked perfectly. and allowed us to be in charge of our destiny every day. We really liked that. The trip was a perfect mix of driving around and stops where we got out and walked to see the sights. Through it all, our driver talked us through the significance of what we were seeing and fun anecdotes. Moha was our driver for this trip, and he was amazing, fun, knowledgeable, and clearly well-liked and respected by the drivers and people working at the places we visited. The Riads they selected were terrific, especially the more authentic ones in Merzouga and Fes. the rooms were big and roomy! We were really happy with our stay here. That said, all the other stays were lovely. The location was convenient to everything we wanted to see.. The staff were incredibly helpful. So all in all, this was a fantastic trip. Such a fun way to see more of this country and have some delicious food along the way! I would absolutely do this trip again!

This was an incredibly unique private tour and Desert Trips helped make the whole process seamless - Everything was planned to perfection, and being able to WhatsApp the team directly took a lot of stress out of our trip. Our driver Hassan, picked us up at the airport and stayed with us the entire 10 days. He was extremely courteous and helpful, even going the extra mile and taking photos and guiding us where necessary. He was kind, patient, and flexible. We also really enjoyed our private tour guides. Not only were they hilarious and entertaining, but they had a deep knowledge of the town’s history. Thank you for organizing our trip and helping us enjoy such a beautiful country. We appreciate all your attention toward us. Will definitely use them again on our next trip to Morocco!!

Marvellous Morocco - Excellent experience from start to finish! Proposed itinerary was detailed, and easy to follow, including travel times, hotels and specific inclusions. Being able to make payments easily in Canadian dollars was also a bonus. Guides were punctual and knowledgeable. The Riads were each unique with amazing staff at each willing to go out of their way to make our stays enjoyable and comfortable. DesertTrips also exceeded our expectations when we inadvertently forgot to empty the safe at our first hotel on checking out and didn’t discover our error until we arrived at our next hotel over 300km away. They arranged for another driver /guide to pick up our passports and valuables at the hotel and meet us two days later to give us our belongings. The peace of mind they were able to give us cannot be overstated! Our driver/guide was an excellent driver and he was kind and compassionate. He played modern African music in the car which really set the mood and the vibe for the longer car journeys throughout Morocco. Overall, the entire trip which was just awesome!!

Wonderful trip to Morocco - My husband and I just finished a 10 day trip in Morocco. It was amazing. Med was wonderful in planning our trip. Siad, our driver was nice, professional and knowledgeable and went above and beyond. All of our guides were great. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We would highly recommend Desert Trips!

Just go! - This trip was so well organised, we felt so safe and we stayed at the best places!! Besides having Said as our general guide and driver with us for the full trip, we were given local guides for Fez and Marrakesh and a photographer/guide in Chefchaouen. The sights were breathtaking but the highlight of this trip for me was the many conversations with Said, our tour guide, about life in the Sahara and life as a nomad. We even got to visit a nomad family and had a Berber pizza dish made in front of us through a nomadic oven. These are experiences that actually expanded my world view.Simply put, this trip was amaaaazing! Said was also very fun to be around :) If you’re on the fence about this, my suggestion is to just go! Morocco would not be as beautiful without these precious experiences!

See the authentic Morocco! - One of the most fantastic trips I have ever been on. Our guide Siad made us feel so welcome! As a Berber nomad his unique understanding of desert culture and deep hospitality made the tour feel so authentic and completely different from any other commercialised tour - this felt like you were travelling with a local friend. In the cities you were also given a local guide who takes you off the beaten path to discover the true and ungentrified Fès, Marrakesh and Chefchaouen. There are too many highlights to mention but my favorite were: (1) The camel ride and watching the sunset from the Sahara (2) Walking the mysterious Medina of Fès made me feel like I was in Aladdin or Sinbad (3) Visiting a 12th century Kasbah or fortress made of mud brick (4) Visiting the desert oasis and Siads fantastic explanation of all the plants and life there Accomodation was all fantastic and way better than I had expected for the price. 11/10 would come again

above & beyond - We had the most fantastic 10 day trip to Morocco with DesertTrips! Our trip, visiting Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara desert, Fez, Chefchaouen, Rabat and Casablanca, felt like we were being guided through Morocco by a friendly local showing off their country! Once you contact them, they will provide you with a detailed itinerary which includes your pick up and drop off at the airport. Flights are not included but once you have them booked you simply provide the company with the flight numbers..etc and they coordinate everything else. What an effortless way to travel! Every last thing was done for you and when travelling as two females in a country like Morocco, this was very reassuring indeed. Their travel information provided for the trip was exceptional and came in a format that you could print or simply read from your phone or tablet. There was so much useful information and it was beautifully presented. I have already forwarded it to others considering a trip to Morocco. Our driver and guide Moha, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, attentive, and above all great fun. All our stops were well planned for both timing and what to see. The local guides are well researched and really helpful. All our accommodation was excellent and unusual. The food provided was great and locally sourced. As for our night under canvas? Magical, just magical! We opted to change the time of our camel ride from sunset to sunrise. The best decision yet. Not only was it a far colder option but was a better use of our time spent in the desert. The camels all looked well looked after unlike some I have encountered in other travels. We were led over the sand dunes quite a distance from the camp and then invited to dismount. The blankets on the camels were then placed on the top of a sand dune for us to sit and watch the sunrise. Yes, a definite tick box for the very extensive bucket list! Is short, if you are considering the desert experience or any other experience with DesertTrips, then go ahead and book. You will not be disappointed!

We had a wonderful 10-day tour of Morocco organised by DesertTrips! - I booked with DesertTrips and this was the best decision I've ever made! No standard tour did exactly what we wanted, which is why we looked at a bespoke solution. Med was very effective in talking us through our wish-list so he could understand our requirements. I received excellent recommendations for things to do, and even one idea that I was talked out of which turned out to be very good advice. We checked the proposed itinerary and discussed a few changes. They then produced a revised proposal with costings. Their method is to give one inclusive cost rather than break it down into individual on-costs and then their arrangement fee. However, the total cost was similar to group holidays from the upmarket tour companies. In fact they gave us two quotes, one for staying at luxury accommodation hotels at each location, the other with slightly standard accommodations each time. We checked every hotel in the online review sites and told Med our preferred hotel in each location. They then gave us a revised costing, which we agreed to. Then confirmed our trip. Before contacting Med, I did an in-depth cost analysis of the itinerary, comparing what it would cost if I did the same itinerary on our own. The price difference was nominal, but the experience wouldn’t have been anywhere near as good. There were many, many times on the trip that my wife and I commented to each other how glad we were that they were making the arrangements and that we would have had a mess on our own. One example of this was our accommodation in Marrakech. Our driver’s skill and local knowledge got us into the city roughly an hour earlier than if I had been driving or on a bus. This allowed us to enjoy an activity in Marrakech that we otherwise would have missed. But, more importantly, we couldn’t have known that cars can’t get close to the Medina (old city) Riads. Our driver got as close to the Riad as possible and we were greeted by a representative from the Riad who took our bags and walked us to the Riad. The amazing and wondrous medieval streets of Medina are part of the attraction; however, there was no way we would have found that Riad on our own. Just no way! Of course, our driver had called ahead and arranged this so that a difficult and confusing arrival to the Riad was instead a convenient and efficient transfer. This is one example of many which proved to me that going with DesertTrips was the best decision I made. I don’t have the time or energy to struggle to learn logistics in a new country when DesertTrips, and our excellent driver who they hire, do it all for me. I am left to enjoy my travels. I'm sure we will be travelling with this company again and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Morocco.
