Ideal to learn the secrets of tagine while support local women into work. - We had a fabulous morning with the ladies of Amal learning to make tagine. It's definitely worth the trip out of the Medina to cook outside in the courtyard. While the are plenty of cooking classes available, this organisation supports local women into careers in catering. They could double this price and I would still have thought it was good value. Everyone in the class cooks their own dish, we choose lamb tagine with vegetables. Followed by a tea ceremony explaining the wonders of mint teas, we were pouring like pros from here on out. With the added bonus of getting to taste everyone else's when you sit down to eat a group lunch. Thoroughly recommended.

Educational and Fun Experience - We were able to take this cooking class at the end of our 10-day vacation throughout Morocco. I would highly recommend it. First of all, the location is beautiful - a little bit outside of the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas of Marrakech. It was peaceful and beautiful. If you are renting a car, there is ample parking. If you are planning to take a taxi, arrange for them to pick you up after your class too - trying to find a taxi after was challenging. The women teaching the class are so kind and prepared. They love sharing their culture and traditions. After enjoying tea throughout the country it was wonderful to learn all the steps that go into preparing it! It also felt great to support a non-profit that is doing incredible and life-changing work. About half of our group was very late, so we got started without them which created a bit a disjointed and chaotic experience when they did finally show up, but in hindsight, if we all had been in the class together, it would have been very crowded in the demo kitchen. The delayed start also made this experience longer than the 3 hours noted on their website, but we were happy to stick around longer enjoying time on their patio. It was wonderful to receive the recipes as well. This was one of the best tagines we had and I'm excited to recreate it at home!

Recommended - Highly recommended. Cooking the tagine was fun and then hearing about all the work of Amal 'hope' inspirational whilst partaking in a traditional tea ceremony. Only point, make sure the taxi driver knows where he is going!

Amazing experience - We thoroughly enjoyed our morning with the team of Amal. We learnt how to make authentic tagine, pastille and bread with fresh ingredients and fantastic care and attention from chefs. This was not just a cooking class but also a way to get to know local history and to support a local and sustainable organisation helping the community.

Brilliant cooking experience with wonderful ethos - We had a wonderful time learning to cook traditional Morrocan dishes at Amal. Everyone got to make their own dish with lots of support and encouragment from the team. The class is delivered in a specially designed professional, clean and well organised kitchen. It was also wonderful to learn about the incredible philanthropy work being done to support the women. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Marrakesh.

A highlight of Marrakech - The tagine cooking class at the Amal centre was one of the highlights of our trip to Marrakech- the class was really enjoyable, well run, and while we do a lot of home cooking, we still felt like we actually learnt something. The other people in the group were great fun, and the women's centre/charity is really a really great cause that we were super happy to be able to support.

Great experience - Very, very nice experience, we spent with my friend a very good time, conviviality and sharing. Combine pleasure and gesture of mutual aid between women, to do without hesitation. Good luck to all his brave women and organization!

Wonderful - My 12 year old daughter and I had a wonderful time. The cooking lesson, the tea ceremony and meeting the Amal ladies was inspiring. We also visited the restaurant in Gueliz with our wider family. It's a wonderful place.

Sign up for Amal Cooking Class! - My husband and I visited Amal after a recommendation from a family member. I was not sure what to expect, but this experience was very special. We made fish tagine and vegetable couscous. Both dishes were full of flavor and the teaching group was extremely hands on and helpful. I will recommend this to anyone who wants to take a cooking class in Morocco! The best part is your participation goes to a meaningful cause and organization.

An amazing morning, with amazing people. - This is why we travel!! It's hard to put into words, just how much we learned, and enjoyed our morning with the women of Amal. What a fantastic, and worthy organisation. Thank you for teaching us how to make a 'proper' Moroccon Tagine, and thank you for sharing Amal's story with us. I'd recommend this cookery course to anyone.
